Militek + remap costs ?

Post by crazymazy225 » Fri Feb 05, 2010 6:29 pm

What would you expect to pay for a Mili exhaust + remap all done at the same time, and what HP could i expect ? Is there any thing else you would recommend apart from drc just been done on warranty ? I am in the Fareham Hants area and where would you recommend to take it ? At present 03 dead standard 39k miles. Cash is tight at the moment so looking for a good deal !

£800 - £950 for miltek depending on res or nonres. Circa £650 + for stage 1 map (MRC or U20) + £250 for box map aswell. MTM map is £1200 from QST + whatever extras are required to get car 100% healthy. Normally a map will cost circa £1k - £2k if there are bits to be done.

If cash is tight mate then you have the wrong car for modding!

Milltek + Remap = Stage 1

Add in the gearbox ecu remap and it's a Stage 1+

You're looking at around £1200-£1400 depending on who you go to but I'd recommend MRC in Banbury as your closest specialist (i think).

You can expect gains of around 50 bhp and 80-100 lb ft of torque.

It's the torque that makes the difference and it's a MUST do mod!

Other bits worth considering are the DVs (divertor valves), N75 valve, air filters, Hotchkiss Anti-Roll Bars, De-CAT or Milltek Sport CATs.

So £1200 to £1400 would get me Mili Exhaust rear part i presume not full exhaust + remap inc gearbox to give an extra 50hp. If so that sounds pretty reasonable. Banburys not to far either.

I think the man meant that the map would be £1200 - £1400. Cant see how the map would only be £400 to £600 after the circa £850 Miltek.

Yep, give Doug a call at MRC and all will by crystal clear ;)

Milltek will be a cat-back system (resonated (quieter) or non-res)

Chrome tails or satin black are options.

My figures are based on what i'd expect to pay....

Milltek c.£800 Remap c.£500

£1400 for a full Stage 1+ (if you ask nicely) ;)

There are other options- unit 20 now offers Viperbl maps and you can get a milltek, and a map for that kind of money.
if you are mapping you will HAVE to do the DV's, and the box wont laast more'n 6 months without a map either, so add on £350.

You could just do what I did.......
do it in stages. do the milltek cat back, then when you can do the Dv's & remap, then do a de cat, then do the phaeton ducts (£100ish worth £1000's).
Its up to you and the likes of Grizz will not want you to part with huge sums of money that you cant afford and will advise how to and the best way/route to take.
I regularly make the trip from Cornwall to Liverpool, for me its worth every penny.
It's all Bollox.

In that case i might be on the phone to MRC next month as although the MTM ECU has been good to me, the TCU upgrade was never that great. Doesnt hunt at all but its never really in the right gear at the right time.

Mooch, what's the tangible benefit from doing the ducts?
