Goodbye - for now

Post by Rich_C » Thu Feb 04, 2010 7:00 pm

Well gents after 4 years and 40k miles of ownership I sadly waved goodbye to my saloon this afternoon. I thought long and hard about the sale but having both the RS6 and 911 turbo was a step too far in these hard times. The wife and I have decided that our current home will be our residence for the next 20 years or more whilst the family grows up so the cash is being put towards an extension. The grand master plan is for me to use a tdci Nissan Qashqai as my daily transport which the wife will inherit in a couple of years enabling me to get back into a C6 RS6 once prices are at the right level for me to buy at. So for the time being it's goodbye - although I haven't actively contributed for the last couple of years I do still regularly visit the forum and like most ex owners will continue to do so. To the likes of Grizz thanks for all your help and advice in the past.

I've encouraged the new owner to visit here to say hello, introduce himself and post a few pics. Be gentle with him.

Rich.

Hi Rich,
A couple of years will fly by but in the meantime enjoy the family and the new extension! If it's big enough perhaps you and the missus could have a couple more!

Thanks for your comments guys. Clive - you've got a great car (my honest opinion) and the car has (genuinely) got a great new owner.

I've thoroughly enjoyed the ownership experience - well maybe not some of the big bills and trying to find a competent Audi dealership. It was everything (and more) that I wanted it to be. I still remember the sense of pride and achievement the day I picked it up.

I was sad to see it drive away but life moves on. One things for sure is that the Porsche is going to feel blisteringly quick if I'm spending my weekdays trundling around in a diesel Qashqai  ... for the time being - maybe I should get the C6 RS6 agreement down in writing.
