Simples.. Pad change.. S4

Post by elise135 » Tue Feb 02, 2010 10:47 am

Quick question. (I've done a search but overloaded with results)

Is there any special tools or issues that I need to know about when changing a set of pads on a B6 S4?

I now have the pad indicator light on. I am assuming that will just reset itself when the new pads go in.

I was planning to put in EBC reds all round. It doesn't say but I assume that these come with the wear sensors fitted.

Any comments or pointers to previous info appreciated.

The front are very straight forward. Remove the caliper clip, 2x hex head pins, pull the caliper towards you slightly and then pull it off. The only "special tool" is for retracting the piston. However, a large pair of adjustable grips will do the job.

Did this just the other day with ATE pads from Euro Car Parts.
The pad sensor connector on pads needs about 1mm filing off it to mate with the car's connector!
