I think it's 50/50 in 'normal driving conditions' on the C5, but 60/40 rear/front on the C6.Cornishmoocher wrote:60 rear 40 front i think- enter Clive stage left to put me right!!

I usually find that the fronts wear faster than the rears, but that's on my other quattros, maybe there is something different about the RS6 that I don't know about.

Ok, big thanks to Rich for the offer of the wheel swap, but as it turned out it would have been a pointless exercise!
had the car on the ramp today and went over it with a fine tooth comb, and everything is tight and as it should be, Spoke to Camskill and Vredestien and both agree that the tyre is going to be the issue. I know it is too, they are getting better but still not to be trusted. So rather than take up Rich's valuable time changing wheels, we had a cuppa instead- Cheers mate!
I have decided to give the tyres another 500 miles or so to see if they get any better, and with the weather (hopefully) warming up I may see some improvement.
camskill offered to take them back and send them to Vred for checking but would not exchange them or refund.
I am not sure that I can afford to do all the bits that I have got planned this month and replace them again, so I think this will be the best option fpor me at the moment. It may also mean I have to drivera bit slower, but hey that can't be a bad thing!
Anyhoo, big thanks to all who have helped and advised, its much appreciated.
i will let you know in 500 miles!
Mooch.

So Mooch , being a fan of the vreds, is it a function of more scrub required on the tyre or they arent soft enough given the current cold snap. or is it more down to the 275s being not ideal for the rs6? from this email chain it seems the Vreds havent held up well to your driving style, is this fair to say?
