Cheers for all the replies guys!

I'm waiting on a few more details on a Merlin Purple Avant at the moment, which, on initial photos at least, looks very tidy. 83k, FSH (although currently due), but it does have a fairly short MOT (end of April). Like i say though, i'm waiting on more details. I think, at the right price, it could be a possible candidate........as long as it's available when the Anniversary is sold......which is still waiting on photos before an ad is posted (and i am currently suffering with a bad back so not really in a position to head out to get it cleaned!!).

As far as running costs are concerned, myself and the wife have talked it through. Essentially (and suprisingly she agreed), once shes started her maternity leave we only really need one car, so if anything should go wrong with the S4 it could sit and wait for some funds and/or a DIY repair.

Any more comments, fire them in guys!

Thanks again!

yes mate, i'm told cam chain (or belt, which ever it has) has been done, along with the waterpump.

Its also fairly recently had discs and pads, presuming just front, but could be all round.

Yeah, one more comment - never discuss the financial aspects of S/RS ownership with the wife!! This is a place where you tend to follow your heart rather than your head...

She's used to it. I've had daily driver projects for years, and the MK2 Golf project for over 12 months......and it was her that told me not to sell it when I lost my job at the start of last year. She knows cars are where I'm at and has to deal with it! :-)
