Difficult to see what the torque is measured in isn't it. If you have a ft/lbs torque figure the quick multiplying factor is 1.4 to get to a nM figure [img]images/graemlins/laugh.gif[/img]

Let me know if you can find out.

BTW Tanoga what mods do you have?

right just spoke to Chris at G Force and thanked him for the day out

Basically the graphs with lb indicate tractive force

to convert to lb ft of torque at the flywheel divide by 1700 then multiply by 355

However this will only indicate the torque assuming we hav the same transmission losses as a skyline, which is 27%

They found the 27% by bench dyno testing an engine then putting it in the car so 100% accurate

However I have checked AMDs remaps and they work on more like 30%

If this is ture the answer found above should be divided by 0.97

So e.g my car gives 325bhp at the wheels, with 27% loss this is 445bhp, whereas 30% gives 464bhp. I actually think somewhere in between. What we actually would need to do is run a standard RS4 on the rollers and make assumptions using audi's data, maybe next time!

Torque wise my car gives 1840 trctive force, method one as skyline gives 384lb ft, which is low or 396 if we use 30% loss

Using Andy's theroy of multiply by 1.4 to get Nm I get 538/555Nm. AmD's RR estimated my torque to be 560Nm so i would go with the 30% losses

Also the AmD original run must use these tolerences

JR what were your readings?

Thanks Karl, that's an impressive bhp figure at the wheels [img]images/graemlins/thumb.gif[/img] the flywheel obviously makes a big difference [img]images/graemlins/laugh.gif[/img] Do you reckon there would be any benefits of an MTM flyhweel over yours, or vica versa?

The Shakti on lines if you remember, was a post on RS4.org some time ago, regarding an electrical noise suppression unit for the ECU and associated wiring - claims of additional bhp were made but to be honest I never followed it up [img]images/graemlins/tongue.gif[/img]

I thought this might be relevant considering the data that this rolling road day generated.

I remember a post on AS.net where someone asked what is the optimium point to change gear.

If you can plot your tractive force on the road for every gear and overlay them onto the same graph (with consistent units), the point to change gear is where the lines cross. Performance bikes magazine does this during new bike tests and it tells you which gear (at a given revs) is producing the greatest tractive effort on the road. PB magazine does this through calculation of gear ratios and assumes the same loss percentage in every gear. This is not a bad approximation.

So, using tractive effort in a given gear generate some new lines by using the Audi gear ratio data and then determine optimum change points in every gear. Simple.

I dont have a scanner, but i got on the 320.5 BHP at the wheels , which apparently equates to 440 at the flywheel.
And a torque figure of 417lb ft not sure but 583Nm i think?
I had a trouble with the clutch on the way home, i think its got glazed... but hey on the day that what i got.
I would like to go back ina couple of months time again an see if a new clutch and flywheel will make any difference.
