Seem to recall that one of the mags (Evo?) tested a set of Avons some time back in their tyre test. I don't think they rated them too highly........

zz3's come as standard fitment to morgans and such. heard that they suit lighter cars although I run them on a B6 S4 and rated them, good dry grip, better wet grip and excellent wear rate. At the top of the lower priced tyre rahnge IMO. (but for a few quid more you'll get goodyear 275s)

Michelin Pilot Sport PS2

Post by swanneyboy » Sat Jan 16, 2010 11:11 pm

just changed mine today was going to put Goodyear f1 on but 3-4 weeks wait as out of stock, so spent the money and put Michelin Pilot Sport PS2 on great tyre, the best and what a fantastic rim protector must be a new design as it wasn't on the last set I put on the M3. Worth every penny, even if it may be 2k a year on tyres.

zz3's

I changed from Pirelli P Zero’s to Avon ZZ3’s due to needing a full set and these were the only ones instock. For the first 100 miles or so I thought I made a mistake, but now I think I made the right move, good in all conditions, quiet and also half the price of the Pirelli. Hope this helps.

MyTyres were doing 275 F1's for £680 for 4 delivered, Camskill another good bet.

Suprisingly - KwikFit were doing them around the 680 fitted. Try them but watch the fitters - some can be a tad harshy.

680 fitted for 4 tyres is one hell of a price (although I share the caution about some kwik fit fitters!)

Anyone got any experience of the F1s - any good?

Think 680 is good, 600 fitted for the Vredesteins on 275/30's

Was £560 delivered from Camskill plus £10 per corner with a local fitter.
