How Greedy is your car ...

Post by pscars » Thu Dec 24, 2009 5:23 pm

My current car is a 2006 "56" Range Rover Sport 4.2 V8 Supercharged and it does approx 250 mile per £90 of fuel. How does this fair compared to an RS6 ?

Thanks in advance.

mine is very greedy at the minute. doing short journeys to work, and still in the honeymoon period, so enjoying the power whenever possible...

last tankful gave 14.5 mpg average..!!

tank is 82 litres, by the way.

That doesn't sound bad for a Range Rover.

I sold mine this year, but out of 30 notes, I would get anything from 45-80 miles tops.

I would say the average would be around 60 miles (a mixture of driving styles/distances) so if you multiply that by 3 to get £90, you are talking about 180 miles. The car was quite poor on fuel and would VERY rarely see over 15mpg.

If I drive carefully with occasional blats and doing mixed town and dual carriageway/motorway driving then that's pretty similar to what I get.

Very steady motorway driving might get me nearly 400 miles

Ragging it.....not many miles at all, the mpg indicator can show as little as 5-6mpg on full chat. Mine is mapped though.

My regular short journey to work and back (22miles round trip) gets me 13-14mpg on average!
V-powers not the cheapest fuel to buy either, do you think supermarket whiskey would cost less but would it burn as well?
Deffo gonna have to start fiddling my expences in the newyear.............

If one really boots it our cars do 5.5mpg!!!! By my reckoning 80 litres gone in around 20 minutes. Someone quote me if I'm wrong.
