I guess they say the shark gills on the F2003-GA, and thought "Yeah. They're nice..." Next thing they covered every panel with them...

Good luck to them selling that thing, cos it sure ain't pretty. Of course, this is just my opinion.

Yuck. Looks like it's been designed by Max Power and based on the batmobile.

Have TVR been bought out by a Jap bike manfacturer? or perhaps they have a couple of exchange students over in the design dept at the minute? All it needs is some neon lights to finish it off and then it will be really humming! Looking at the car it shouldn't be a problem to have these installed and can probably be done at the factory. The management at TVR must lately be relying soley on the comments from the suggestions box in the canteen for guidance.

OK...I agree that it would have a problem winning beauty contests but....

What if all those vents are actually functional, the splitter on the front looks like it is, the brake ducts in the lights appear to be for a purpose, the vents above the wheel archs would drag the hot air out of the archs and the Gurney flap on the back (made from glass) is a proper aerodynamic aid.

Maybe this is a track day/race day special version of the Tuscan that has actually been through a wind tunnel....just a thought.

You wouldn't want to put a car like that it into the tyre walls or come into contact with other vechiles to often, I would imagine those panels are not cheap to replace. If I was racing or seriously tracking a car then I would want cheap replacable panels.

I agree...but many Race cars don't have cheap panels...there is of course the Track Day version of the Ferrari 360 available now...doubt if the parts for that are cheap.

Also this is a Show special and MG have their new sports car at the show for the first time....

This is part of their new strategy of crazy revvy performance cars I believe. People bitched about the old Rover/Buick V8 base, so they built the AJP V8, the 4.2 Cerbera engine. Everybody loved it, but wanted more revs, so along came the CRAZY 4.5 litre version (which is incredible, but not torquey enough low down for me). It all went on from there, with the 4 litre straight six coming along, followed by bored out 4.2 versions, and even the 3.6 version at one stage. They're all crazy revvy engines now, and it's all some kind of "bring in the pikies" idea - hence only PhilT sounds really half interested No doubt I'll get slated for that one!

Knowing the way TVR engineers work, all those vents and tomfoolery are put there for a reason. TVR design is now all about making the most out of a simple shape, just look at the Tuscan, the Tamora, the Cerbera, they're all very smooth, integrated cars. Not much of this poncy coachline crap, just functional curves.

Rock on
