Manual box conversion
Manual box conversion
I've been looking at the media on the MTM clubsport (youtube, etc).
DOes anyone know if MTM did any other cars? I believe the clubsport to be the one and only.
Is anyone else working on a manual conversion?

RE: Manual box conversion
I dont think there are many about. I heard a rumour that mrc are doing one privately. i may be wrong but i heard a buzz. There is a guy who is doing a b7 rs4 with c5 rs6 lump and manual box, but i dont know which box. i think he is abroad somewhere (greece maybe). I have a suspision that it was a phaeton diesel box to handle the torque. again, unsure.

I once had a friend who had a Sierra XR4x4 turbo technics twin turbo conversion.
It might be more economical to turbo an S6 than put a manual box on an RS6. In fact, isn't this what the MTM clubsport is?

funilly enough......
I was having a beer with an ex formula1 driver last week, I wont mention any names, but we were discussing just this. He has a Gumpert which he races. He has had the box uprated to cope with the 800bhp that it delivers and also the hybrid battery pack which he can clag in to produce an extra 100 hp.
In Dubai he had to reduce the boost and map so the car would only produce 500ish as it had eaten 4 gearboxes.
i told him about grizz and his manual conversion, and he said and I quote- "why do you tink that MTM only ever built the one?"
What he has done now is mapped the box to allow a 3rd gear start or on a standing start 2nd.
It also has active torque control, so that in low gear corners he can adjust it accordingly. it was quite cheap to do..... $50k.
