Whats it worth?
Whats it worth?
Considering selling my RS4 but wondering what its worth this time of year.
Here goes:
It a 2000 X in black with black leather, piano inserts, sunroof, sat nav+
Full history from Audi until last week when MRC serviced it and replaced DVs, MAF and a couple of other bits.
68k miles and completely standard other than smoked side repeaters and S2000 aerial.
4 Goodyear F1 Assys fitted to hard type wheels less than 5k miles ago.
What do you think?

RE: Whats it worth?
I've been looking recently but not made up mind on B5 or B7. Based on a few i've seen (online) recently i'd expect to see that advertised 15-16k but you may need to lower that a bit to actually get a sale.

RE: Whats it worth?
stick to your guns tho, good cars are hard to find. Its a buyers market, if its a good spec and condition you'l have a sale
Avus B5 RS4, Miltek down pipes/No cats/Miltek Cat-back, Wagner uprated SMIC's, short shifter, B7 brakes, Phaeton brake ducts, H&R ARB's, H&R Coilovers, AWE DTS, MRC custom Remap + water meth injection = BIG GRIN on my face with poo in my passengers pants

RE: Whats it worth?
Did MRC suggest any work needed doing?
Kev is bang on with value - it's all down to how quickly you need to sell.

RE: Whats it worth?
I sold my 2001 example with same miles/spec but full milltek etc for a shade over 16k 6 months ago, Took 4 months of advertising and a price reduction,14k upwards should be achievable but these cars are specialist and buyers also to a degree.Good origonal clean cars are rare dont fall for the old" ive seen one for £££££" be patient there are some dogs out there that are "££££££" cos thats all there worth,Nick j may be worth a call he offered me very similar money to what i achieved with a private sale
RE: Whats it worth?
RS4KEV get a good test drive of a b7 on your fave road the decision will then be easier

RE: Whats it worth?
I'm in absolutely no rush to sell and judging by those prices I'll wait until the spring. I'm confident of much more than 16k especially having the spec that this one has.
Unless something extraordinary comes up, I shall be keeping it for a while longer.
Cheers,
Rob

RE: Whats it worth?
Just to update this, I have been offered £15k and £15.5k by separate dealers in p/ex with cars in their stock. So basically you're well off with your prices and this should sell easily in the spring for considerably more.
For anyone interested, this car will be on pistonheads at £17995 when the weather breaks.
Cheers,
Rob

RE: Whats it worth?
A lot of specialist dealers seem to be advertising for stock at the moment, suggesting that the supply:demand ratio favours the seller. Does this mean a slight rise in values is on the horizon? I would be interested to know what someone with £20000 to spend would buy as a realistic alternative to an RS4. Similarly, what would be on your shopping list for current RS4 values? I think I would be spending upwards of £30000 before I found something to draw me away from it.
RE: Whats it worth?
@roi354 - interesting to hear, there has to be a bottom plateau for good cars and maybe it's there. Time for me to get off the fence too, black's not for me though
@SimonC - only thing i've looked at half seriously is a M5 but if you think Audi servicing is expensive

RE: Whats it worth?
I have found that p/x values are usually higher than a direct sale as they can effectively subsidise the trade-in from the profit in the new sale, I think you would struggle to get this for a private sale considering market conditions.

Dealer's often get px valuations wrong but take advantage of it if you can!Just to update this, I have been offered £15k and £15.5k by separate dealers in p/ex with cars in their stock. So basically you're well off with your prices and this should sell easily in the spring for considerably more.
As said above though overallowing on a px is normal, ask them how much for a straight purchase to them without pxing for something and you may find a big difference.
