Wheel Refurb, colour change?

Post by Petrolthreads » Mon Nov 30, 2009 9:59 pm

I need a wheel refurb thinking of using Pristine Wheels just outside Milton Keynes, first of all anyone have any experience of them?

Secondly was seriously considering getting them sprayed black afterwards, perhaps with a matt chrome edge, anyone got a picture of a black car with the wheels in black?

Not had any experience of Pristine Wheels, but Lepsons down in Kent powder coated the wheels of my old 997 in black with a silver lip.
Never seen an RS4 with the look though.

Thanks for that I think because mine has the black grille but still have chrome window surrounds, mirrors and roof bars it could look brilliant, i guess I won't know till it's done

Have you any mates with photoshop? Shouldn't take too long to get a rough idea, just to make sure.

No, not that I know of, I presume I could have them done again if it was a disaster

The crappiest ever two minute attempt at a retouch, done on iPhoto.
My black avant, now with (sort of) black wheels.
Hopefully yours will look better, mate.

Hi, I've just had all my wheels fully refurbed by Pristine and I think the finish is better than OE. They also produced a quality smoothed finish to the inside of the rims for easy cleaning. Highly recommended.

I'm thinking of doing mine, and having the wheels, either black or anthracite, all over, bar the face, so the basket and sides of the spokes etc are in colour and the face is in silver...

Have used Pristine also, faultless. Had my OEMs re-done and are perfect and had the HRE's re-coloured from matt black to charcoal also perfect.

Pristine

Hi,

I'm in exactly the same boat as you. I want to get mine done in Titanium. I checked with Pristine and the price was somewhere over £500 including repairs where necessary. Apparently, it's cheaper than getting them done in the original colour due to the cost of buying the paint from Audi???!!

Pristine were recommended by a company near to my home town which is a couple of hours from MK. From that, I assumed they had a good reputation.

Dunno about where you live but I can vouch for the Newcastle branch. They must be good for a comparable quote?

Thanks for the feedback, Pristine are only down the road so would make perfect sense, looking at it again the rim in silver won't work because the spokes go right to the edge so the rim

I've emailed Pristine twice now and no reply........
Considering having my RS6 wheels done on my A4.
What concerns me is the colour match to OEM. Has anybody got an experience with this?
