What a sad man...
Resorting to pitiful posts on other forums, without having the decency to front up on here. Was he bitter when he was on this forum?

Arsehole.

The Focus is a MaxPower car. The Audi is classy, powerful and a much better car in every way.

There's alot of tuning to be done for sure on the Focus, but even with it's revoknuckle system, it's still FWD, and wont be able to handle it.
B5 S4 Saloon Widebody Track Car.
B5 RS4 - now sold.

I've said it before - every car I've ever owned from a Nissan Cherry through various Montegos, Rover Coupes, Mk4 Golf TDI, Citroen ZX, Audi A6 4.2, Audi S8, right up my current car has had various problems of one type or another, some cheap, some not-so-cheap.

All machines go wrong - cars, washing machines, tvs, cookers, boilers, printers, routers, mobile phones, lawnmowers, etc. etc. etc. you name it. Is anything in life reliable I ask you?

Life is short! Live it to the full and stop bickering about this that and the other - all cars are good in their own way. Hell, I still have fond memories of my first car, that little Nissan Cherry - it was light, reasonably quick and as reliable as any other car and I loved it!

In this timeline, I happen to be driving an RS6+, but who knows in another I could be driving a FRS and enjoying that just as much!

Think I'm getting too philosophical in my old age... (34) Now, where's my rock..

Seriously, all said and done, Jezzer does have a fair point about the dealers' incompetence regarding the remedial work - there have been a fair few examples of wrongly charged DRC systems in the RS6 section resulting in a very high ride - their response 'Oh well, it'll settle down sir, give it time..'. I mean, come on.

In my case, I had the entire lot replaced with coilovers - which yeah blahdy blah blah aren't the all-round balance of comfort and handling of the DRC, but - I sleep at night; knowing I won't have to go to the dealer tomorrow and wait 6 weeks to get my car back with its ride still not right.

You know the saying - the more complex the machine....

The FWD point is a good one. Can anyone name a serious sports car that is FWD? There are none that I can think of in the upper echelons (Ferraris and the like), looking at the next rung down (I think the RS4 sits here) the really quick stuff either has 4WD or is RWD. Everything else that's quick is just a tuned up version of what's a pretty bog-standard platform with a turbo here and there, or something that means they can market a car that has 250bhp or 300 bhp so all the scallies (or however you spell it) can say they've got a Focus RS-yeah and it's, like, got 300 bhp-yeah and it's bright green-yeah! Sod the fact that the car simply can't put that much power down through two tyres and expect them to steer too!

And so the FWD debate still rages on its quite tiresome hearing the same old rubbish being posted, bit like a echo! - Who has actually drive one?

Phil3103 have you driven one? is that why your such a guru on the FRS? Ford should have just asked you for your wisdom when they designed the car!

Phil3103 does have a valid point - name a true FWD drivers car?? I tried to think of one and couldn't really.
Possibly bods might say some of the renault Clio 16v (i had one but the bugger would understeer in the wet), early Toyota Corollas 16v (same as the clio in the wet), and some of the Pugs - 306gti (rallye version was better but damn spartan). All basic hot hatches if you will.

Whats a true FWD car? you can't think of one because your comparing them to cars 3-4 times more expensive.

Clio Williams, Peugeot 205 GTI, Integra DC2- 5, VW corrado VR6, mk1 Golf Gti, Escort RS turbo, FRS MK1, Prob the MK2 in time, 106 rallye, renault R26R, Alfa gta, Racing Puma, mini and so on

Thats not my opinion, these cars have been voted, tested and chosen by car mags/tv programmes over the years - you can't discount these cars just because they don't have big V8's, nice plastic and 4wd - like the amazing RS4!!!

Everyone has has to start somewhere with a sporty car - and cars like these are the bread and butter, there attainable fun for the masses - the world of cars would be a far duller place without them!

I bet nearly everyone on this forum has owned one once in there time, and probably have fond memories.

I used to Have one of the last 50 Escort Cosworth's made, which followed a 3 door Sierra Cosworth and various RS Turbos, RS1800 Fiestas XR2s etc, then Subarus then a couple of Mitsubishi Evos - every one of these cars has had its own problems, but every one has put a smile on my face too. Any fast car will go wrong, but I'm now at the point in life where I want a 'grown up' car, but that doesn't stop me appreciating all the other good stuff out there.
Someone once told me that if it's got t**s or tyres it will cost you money!
Phantom Black 06 (current), Evo 8 sold, Evo 6 sold, Escort Cosworth sold, Sierra Cosworth (nearly killed me several times) sold, RS Turbo sold

Ex-owners can be very fickle when they jump from brand to brand and forum to forum. Very childish I think :)

Didn't EVO rate the Mountune ST over the RS blah blah blah RS4 is not as sharp as the M3 blah blah blah......

Here's the deal:

I have owned these cars:
Renault 11  & 19 16v / MG Montego  / Nissan ZX Turbo / Seat Curpa 2.0 16v / 2 x Civic Type R's (great little machines) / Golf R32 mk4 / Scooby STi PPP / Porsche Cayman S and presently a 2007 B7 RS4
I have also driven a Porsche Carrera 2 (both 993 & 997 models) and a Ferrari 355 and 360 spider 8)

Now here's the rub, I loved all of these vehicles for many different reasons (except the renault 11 which was a pure bucket of sh*te). But here's another point, not one of the front drive cars were any use in anything from damp to wet to frosty to snowy weather, simple, they just can't cope with it and it's no different in the rear drive cars either

The cars that could do all things in all weather were the R32, the STi and the RS4, fact, pure and simple
On the Mboards you will see them playing footage of the new M3 up against the RS4 and every time the M3 manages to pull away slowly but not once will you see them post a race in anything but bone dry weather..... why is that folks?
As said above all machines have problems because parts wear or are faulty but I know for sure that the RS4 is the best "all round" super car on the roads and I'm happy for FRS drivers to zoom past me if they wish and if it makes them feel better. I have done that myself in the past but it changes nothing these two cars are worlds apart but I am still sure that the FRS is a very good, if not the best front drive car to date.
The guy slagging off this forum clearly has insecurities but that is his problem, not our's guys because we do own some very special cars :D :D :D
