I will try to take a picture within this week. I was supposed to get my car back from the garage this week, but it looks like that won't happen before next week... :-(

This filter is "bolt on" to the MAF.

I will keep it in mind...

By the way, -with this filter the sound is much much better. You can really hear the turbo working... And that is just the way I like it... :-) I can't say that I have noticed any gain in the performance, but as I said... The sound is excellent...

I have a video from my car available, but I haven't found any place to upload it. It's app. 200Mb. There You can hear the sound.

That is the exact reason i want a cone filter,

To hear the turbo spooling up and wastegate letting go !

Ummm sorry but you'll never hear the wastegate on a 20vt engine, but rather the throttle bypass valve...

And if you don't have a really good heatshield on the cone intake, all you'll do is lose HP, I've already BTDT loads of times with several customers of mine who wanted their cars remapped, fitting a cone intake on an S2/RS2 is really tricky because there's no room for it and it picks up heat very nicely, which is NOT what you want to happen!

Cheers,

Mihnea

cheers mihnea

I have seen a few modified rs2's on websites etc etc
where the bigger turbo fits in where the air-box would usually be, where do they re-locate the air filter ??

is it a remote type in the bumper ??

Doug has just fitted a monster turbo to his S2 as have quite a few others. I am sure we can dig out some pictures for you. Some people in warmer climates locate the filter down in front of the oil cooler but this is no good for us with our British weather because of the chances of picking up water. Doug has installed a large duct to draw air in towards his relocated filter from the oil cooler bumper duct. This elimintaes the water problem. Any pics of your impressive upgrade Doug or do we have to wait until its been mapped and you've had some fun first??

This shows the ITG cone (actually a cylinder). The heatshield was a trial fit in this pic - it has a rubber seal (boot style) along the top edge so it seals when the bonnet is down.

This shows the cold air feed route to the filter.

And this shows where the cold air comes from - this is the ducting for the oil cooler - you don't get much air flowing through the oil cooler so there is a lot of pressure build up in the ducting - now it has a path upto the filter.
