Sports suspension plus, how much firmer?

Post by mboy » Fri Nov 06, 2009 6:23 pm

I am looking buying an RS4 and would like to know the difference in ride between sports suspension and sports suspension plus. Thanks, Mboy.

They are both crashy. I tried both before purchasing and liked the look of the SS package but couldn't live with it day to day. The normal suspension is a little bit more forgiving.
Best bet is to try both on test runs.

Must agree with Outlaw here. I just think the SS+ is a little better when throwing the car around a bit but never really noticed too much of a difference when driving normally. SS+ looks much better though, a more 'planted to the road' sort of stance.

I've got SS+ and have no issues with the ride at all. There are probably more variances between individual cars based on the DRC pressure settings (factory, dealer, "weeping" etc.) than there is with SS+ vs non SS+

And it looks much better...

any of you guys generous enough to post pics of what the suspension looks like and or pics of your cars? looking to see how much it lowers it (specs say 20mm) but curious to see how it actually looks after it's installed.

also, can you explain how much harsher it feels like going over bumps, etc..like a percentage perhaps.. 50% stiffer?

i assume this has to be installed by an audi dealer due to the DRC?

thinking of purchasing the SS suspension instead of the Stasis suspension.

thanks.

bye bye

This has SS+, I have it and it's very refined at low speeds considering how well it performs at speed.

Note that avants tend to sit lower at the back with or without SS+.

^^ the front doesn't look like it was dropped at all. fender gap looks the same as my stock suspension if not higher.. i thought a 20mm drop should be way more noticeable.

thanks for the pics everyone.
