want to see how good the RS4 is?

Post by ArthurPE » Fri Nov 06, 2009 2:34 am

don't drive it for a while

I've parked mine for 2 months, been driving my 951...which is modded and no dog itself...

been driving the RS4 the last couple of days...
it is a GREAT car, not merely good, but GREAT
not great for a 4 door, but great for ANY car...

the grip/handling, startling
the engine, amazing, a gem
brakes? superb
the ride & comfort, par none
looks: find myself staring at it out my office window
solid as a piece of granite...
fit/finish: like a swiss watch

I am really re-impressed...damn I like that car :D

Me either. I tend to only drive mine at weekend as don't see the point in getting in it to sit in traffic every morning. I get itchy feet if I don't go for a mid-week evening blast every now and again.

Basically there isn't anything else that puts such a big smile on to my face! Love this car.

Due to the slowdown globally (and in Dubai) I found myself commuting 105 miles each way each day between Dubai and Abu Dhabi over the last 12 months, every single mile in the RS4. It gobbled up every mile between the speed cameras that trigger at 160kph (so guess what happened between the cameras on empty 5 lane highways!). With 98ron at 24p per litre where else in the world could this happen!

I have a great new job only 10 minutes from my house in Dubai so no more massive commute, i'm going to miss being in the car so much. I have never been tempted to keep the miles off this car, it's mine for driving. It is the first time in my life that I have owned a car for 18mths and can never imagine wanting to change it.

Buying the 2008 RS4 was a dream that came true, you can't imagine how high my hopes and expectations were for this car, and it still manages to exceed them on a daily basis with 40,000 miles on the clock!

mines a commuter.

sports suspension plus takes a bit of getting used to, and the interior has a couple of creaks here and there, especially when its cold, but as a car, and as a package, its very rounded...

lol

I thought I was the only one that 'weird' :D

sometimes, 1/4 front, sometimes straight-on, sometimes, rear 1/4
my favorite: front 1/4 wheels cocked slightly opposed

I'm using lady P_G's A2 for a few days per week to do my commute to work and God is it tortuous not to take the RS, it is physically gut wrenching. Like said before after driving the A2 the RS feels so much more planted, there is power in abundance and the noise now ther temperature has dropped is just glorious. And it helps pretty much everyone gets out of the way, especialy now with the brighter DRL's.

It is a fabulous car. Everyone who knows me asks when I am going to chop it in but I can't see me doing for some time yet if ever.

Absolutely amazing car.
However, wait untill the B9 RS4. 4.0TTFSI in excess of 470bhp, superior quattro platform, longer wheel base = better handling along with magnetic suspension etc... along with the hairdryers = huge performance

You sure the B9 will have a 4.0TTFSI ? Bet it'll be a 3.0 V6 TT or TS... Smaller engines are a go go my man.

RS cars are a special breed of exotica as such for quattro gmbh. From my understanding and the new RS5, they will ditch the 4.2 V8 (big, fuel hungry, enviro bullshit etc....)
They could possibly shorten the stroke to a swept volume of 4.0 cm3 or revise the bottom end as well.
Definitely won't have a 3.o V6 ?
NOt too many RS owners will swallow a V6 ??

The engine will have to be a generic engine from the Audi stable though, although highly modified. How many models featured the 4.2 V8?
Have to agree with others and say Audi will prob decrease the size, and turbocharger it plus lump on a supercharger for low down torque.

Either way, it'll be a cracking car and saving up now - as BMWs just don't float my boat.
