I'm currently in talks with an American company who produce side mounted intercoolers. Doug was v impressed with the results.
There wasn't a huge difference between the FMIC and SMICs. I'll let you know when the company gets in touch. You'll be looking around
1K inc delivery. The rolling road showed the car struggling top end due to in-take temps, therefore a pair of uprated SMICs is in order!!

The problem with the FMIC upgrade is that you also need to replace the oil cooler.
If you can get similar gains from swapping the SMICs for that sort of money, then it may be a goer. However the intercoolers being upgraded are still only going to achieve a small gain. For more you need to start thinking about turbos, fuel pump, injectors etc...

Good power there Rob, still want those intercoolers fitting when you get some

Don't forget Carl IAT will be lower with bigger intercoolers...makes a difference.

Hi mate... You feeling better?

Yeah, which means the engine is working alot more efficiently...?
However the gains I've been informed, are quite small in comparison to what I've got already? Doug mentioned there's little gain for my car now without as we spoke before (intercoolers, manifold, zorst, turbos, fuel pump, injectors...).

With the FMIC I might be pushing 500bhp, but I'd need the other bits, to get much more...?

Maybe 3" DPs? Much extra in cost/bhp? Could offset the sale of my DPs against it...

To be honest I'm v happy with the current power. The car feels likes its flying esp in the colder weather. The only problem I have is extreme heat soak. I'm aware of the gains of a FMIC but I don't want the bumper cut away and have to loose the Sportec fogless grills – want to keep the front end as OEM as poss.
Cheers

Still feel a bit sh**e but much better cheers.

3" Downpipes are what i'm fitting next :D

As I said before not a big fan of cutting the bumper up to fit and prefer OEM look IMHO. You are on the limits of what else you can gain power wise but things as intercoolers will help the power be more consistant....

Got talked into the airbox mod by Doug a few weeks ago (not hard really if I'm being honest although it pushed the final bill up to £2k...)and the ITG/MRC panel filter- felt much smoother on the run back if no more muscular, would imagine mine is making similar figures to Robs.....

Cheers
