Colour Change?

Post by rs4_power » Sun Oct 04, 2009 11:05 pm

Thinking of respraying my RS4 White, wot do you guys think? Will it affect the price when it comes to selling it. I have been to a garage who do quality spray jobs on Ferrari, Bentley etc and have a good rep and i have seen their work and it is perfect. Got a quote of 3000 pounds as it will take them about 1 month to do (all panels doors removed). Do you think i should go ahead with it? I would rather have it vinyl wrapped but no one local to me does it and it would cost less than half the price of a full spray job.

Wrap it.
If you don't like it, you simply remove it.
When white becomes less fashionable/popular, just swap it for something nicer.

Can do it twice for the price of the re-spray, which is permanent.

Simples...

Mate, surely do the maths then! If the vinyl job is, say £1500, then as long as your travel and accom. etc to get to someone who does the wrap and wait while they do it is less than £1500 then you're quids in aren't you? And also, from what I've read of the wrap it's meant to protect your existing paint so if white isn't the thing when you come to sell it then get it taken off again! You get to enjoy the colour you want now and preserve the marketability of your car in the future.

Hope that makes sense. Just my opinion of course. It's your car and your cash at the end of the day.

I think i am going to try and find someone who does the vinyl wrap then. Can any one recommend anyone close to Sheffield southYorkshire area that does vinyl wrap?
Also will the vinyl look bang on like a spray job as i don't want it having any creases etc onit.
Thanks

Do a search, a number have been done recently, and one organisation had a number of franchises around the UK...

There's a chap on here (klauster) that has a white vinyl wrapped RS4 and is based in Yorkshire (according to his location). Might be worth dropping him a PM.

Klauster - if you're reading, can you advise rs4_power?

IIRC Totally Dynamic are based in Leeds who are the outfit who did Klauster's 'white' RS4 saloon.
