Big thanks to those who made the day the success it was.
Well organised with no hassle or problems.

Just to add my twopennys worth- thanks a lot guys for making this a memorable day. Altough I left early (I was pretty s***ged and feeling fluey) I learnt a lot- namely:
-I consider myself a good road driver but a track is something else
-the RS4 is a damned impressive car, I'm beginning to understand the love affair!
-the benefits of ESP
Once again , thanks Phil, JR and all the other people who made this a great day out

My highlight was lapping the tractor during a 15 minute session. (Although in hindsight, I guess it's not much of an achievement!)Hope I did'nt slow too many people up, my crowning glory was passing the R32

Re: 2nd Dec - RS246 @ Oulton Park
What a Cracking day!!!!!!!
Thanks to everyone who attended, only 4 no shows
You know who you are Ahem
Great fun in the morning sliding around, and also the first time back to Oulton since my off there in the summer,so i was taking very gently most of the day, so could build up my confidence again, it dried out more in the afternoon so i started to give it large.
Funny Tim it is exactly where i came off where you had your poo shifting moment
Heroes of the day
Fatcat with the A3 1.8turbo (Diesels have never looked so good)
David T for good consistant laps(I was watching you mate)
Andiroo for showing everyone what IS possible from a 2.7 TT car
Oh and PhilT for keeping the whole thing moving.
Cheers
jr

You know, just when I think its time to move on from the RS to something different, usually for no better reason than over familiarity, an utterly marvellous day like this pops up and anhiliates any whiff of complacency by once again re defining my expectations of the car
She is in for the 40,000 mile service today. So glad after my huge off - road expedition that she still only requires strictly service - only work and not a whole new body!
When your time is up they say your whole life flashes before your eyes, but my wallet and a shed load of £50 pound notes going down an enormous toilet flashed before mine
Another great day at the Park. Mega turn out from RS246. Hope I didnt infect anyone.
Thanks JR (what IS it about that corner? just kept inviting me to try higher entry speeds each time), PhilT and the crew. Excellent organisation. Great pictures, too
Eric and Frederic - hope you made the Portsmouth ferry. What colossal commitment you have

Re: 2nd Dec - RS246 @ Oulton Park
Good show by all. Nice to met fat cat after seeing him on here and on TSnet, and I was supprised how quick the tractor was. Cheers to John (i think for the cigar) and his friend for the car charger loan!!! (perhaps name badges would have been a good idea!)
Has Phil stopped doing the headless chicken impressions? Thanks to him and JR for organizing things so well!
Andy, my mate joe was well stoked from the taxi ride you gave him!
Cheers for the DVD John, will watch it tonight!
one comment from Joe was that he had never seen such a civilised owners group, as he has been to many vauxhall, and vw themed events, and he was mightly impressed with it all. So thats a tommy 2 thumbs up for us lot then~!!!!
see you all again soon!
PS did any one notice I didn't break anything important i.e gearbox, propshaft etc....didn't I do well!

Re: 2nd Dec - RS246 @ Oulton Park
what sort of times were people managing to stay out on track? I notched 43 mins for the first session (with sighting laps included though) and then 40 mins for my second.
I think the dampness really helped as my tyres had really great grip, only starting to 'go off' on the last session when the track was nearly all dry.
Best trackday I have ever been on and a great circuit. You can even race the RS4s at Oulton!
Jon - Never got a chance to say hello but I was behind you in the black S3 when you had a bit of a tailslide on one of the corners after the Yokohoma bridge at the end of the day.
PS - Echoing Tims comments a decent track day like this really makes you realise how good the cars are.

Re: 2nd Dec - RS246 @ Oulton Park
Yep - it was a day to remember alright. Very courtious driving, good food, very technical track, no problems with the car [phew] and fantastic organisation.
My best bits are;
1. Having a 'moment' on the double apex in the morning session [Avon tyres suck!].
2. Experiencing the difference decent tyres can make [thanks Jeff - or should I thank your michelin sport pilot 2's ?]
3. Andy - respect to that motor of yours - I have internal organ damage!

Re: 2nd Dec - RS246 @ Oulton Park
Gutted I couldn't make it but knew it would be a great laugh and well sorted like all RS246 events.
If its any consolation (not) I'm still feeling dead rough and now BOTH cars have AMM failures so even if I managed to get into the RS4 it wouldn't have made it
Glad everyone came back in one piece. Well done to JR and PhilT who did all the work, just cos I couldn't make it doesn't mean I don't appreciate it.
