That'll teach me...

Post by stumpyrs4 » Thu Aug 27, 2009 3:00 pm

Was on a familiar run a week or so ago, down to see my Mum (ahhhhhhh everyone...), so didn't bother taking my SatNav Camera Detector out.

Was pootling down the A2 (Dual carriageway, good clear open road) and all of a sudden spotted the rear of a Police Van, over the crest of a small hill/hump, parked up on the verge.

Whack on the brakes, down to maybe 80...

Guess what arrived this morning...?
Yep. I've had a clean licence for about 8yrs so a real disappointment.

Should have taken the GPS jobby out with me, and definitely will on ALL trips now.

I take it there's not alot of point in claiming the recorded speed (82mph) was wrong?

In Kent you might get the offer of the Speed Awareness Course instead of points, I've just done that for 37 in a 30, would you believe by a camera 200 yards from where I live, talk about lack of concentration.

Where abouts on the A2, I use that road a bit.

I'm not so sure a GPS jobby would help you if it was a mobile camera van (unless it's a very common spot for them to sit)???

On the A2 near Womenswold? Heading South...

Not sure about the driver's course. Finger's crossed.

Haven't seen them parked there before, but they may do from time to time.
