Best (or should I say least bad) dealer?
Contrary to what I put earlier. I'm doing the same. Just had call from Southampton to say I can drop car off earlier so it's going in tonight. I have a couple of months on my side until the 6 years is up so I'm going to see what they say and go from there. It needs the Left engine mount (solenoid) replacing anyway so I'll see how that goes. Watch this space....!
Update: Southampton Audi have said all the shocks are leaking and a couple of the valves are in need of replacement. They knew about the 6-year goodwill Audi statement. i.e less than 120000 miles, less than 6 years old, Full Audi Service History!! but the catch in my case is that the car must have also been purchased through the Audi Network and not an independant dealer or private!!!!!!! They are preparing a quote anyway and are going to consult Audi UK whether they will make a contribution!!!! Gutted!!!! Just going to pick up the car and see what the damage is going to be. Will post when I get back.......
Audi UK wouldnt entertain at all!!! The chap at the dealership was quite sympathetic actually, credit where due. Discounted parts by 5% and dropped the labour by 25%. But still comes to £2800!!! In this case its not the labour that the problem its the parts. The shocks arent that bad at £153/each. But it needs 2 accumulators which are £600 each! Once you add the VAT, it all adds up.

Ramone: I hope you got your car through the Audi Network!!!!!
RE: Best (or should I say least bad) dealer?
err - no...
They said it was 5 years not 6 too! Just been in and am waiting for the call back as we speak - mechanic was really helpful actually and seemed a very nice chap.
car appears to need:
2 new front gators
Discs & Pads at Front (see below)
DRC shot - quelle surprise...
but other than that, its healthy!
Would I be better off investing in a new break kit, given I need to buy disks & pads anyway?
Price information coming....

Take it to camberley. mine is being fixed by Rob as we speak. unfortunately there is lots else wrong with the car - but thats the joys of motoring!!!
RE: Best (or should I say least bad) dealer?
what else is wrong with yours then / what do I need to be looking out for?
RE: Best (or should I say least bad) dealer?
oil cooler leak, cv joint gators split/perished, cv joint, gearbox oil leak, rear prop seal leak, corroded rear discs, engine mount. on top of that its needs cambelt and 4 new tyres and a 4-wheel alignment as the insides of the rear tyres are badly worn.

No wonder Rob was pleased to help"!! You must have made his month bonus!! Now he can afford the next upgrades to his super mean Fiat 500!!

Hi Chaps,
not read the whole thread...but....I had mine totally replaced under a 'Lexus' warranty at Harrogate Audi, it then broke (usual dampers, valves etc) twice after then, which they repaired and finally when it broke a fourth time. They paid out for me to get it replaced with H&Rs at Grizzzz'zs place Unit 20. So I think they have to win as best dealer??!!
Very accommodating too...
Lig.

Well, I'm getting the oil leaks/cv joint covers done first as priority - otherwise sods law something major will fail and it'll end in tears!!!! The rest can wait although the rear tyres are apparently bad. safety comes first!!!!
