Post by Mac-Logotech » Fri Jul 17, 2009 6:24 pm

A bit of a random question I know, but the wife thinks im nuts and spend too much on petrol.
Not taking into account trips away etc, how much on average do you spend?
Maybe to work and back and a blast at the weekend?

hmm, I reckon roughly 30-odd quid a week-ish. Doing only local mileage and then not using the car every single day. Plus I've been trying to exercise alot more such as walking to do the shopping and walking to the shops and riding my mountain bike more.

I budget on £400/month and am probably running slightly ahead of this at present - surely it's easy enough to figure what you need based on your average milage and about 20MPG as a reasonable figure. I do about 20K miles a year, and am a bit ahead at present mainly due to a long trip to Scotland in May!

Next weekend looks like a killer - Sandhurst to the Lake District on Friday, then Harrogate and Durham on Sat, followed by a run to SW Wales on Sunday. That should put a grin on my face.... and a hole in my wallet!

Dave
