That seems an inordinantely high tank range. Are you constantly crusing in 6th on mostly empty roads at 50mph? What does your DIS Av\MPG read?KiwiRS4 wrote:Out of curiosity what mileage is everyone getting on different fuels. I primarily use BP/97 I'm getting a constant 350miles per tank. Before the MAF/lamda's and airfilter replacement this was around 280miles per tank.
I'm getting ~250 miles now from a tank, often less but rarely more.
Blimey!! that's incredible mpg- I drove like a granny (well mostly) in wales recently mixture of fast A roads, bumpy B roads and a bit of the M4 and got my best ever out of a tank - about 260 miles (some of that with roofbox on the way home tho'). 350 miles out of tank has nothing to do with type of petrol IMHO.KiwiRS4 wrote:That's what I thought when I looked at the others on this forum. Typical scenario: 6th gear along the M4 from Windsor to Bristol return travelling at 80mph is approx 30mpg.
When it's fun time with B-roads and stress relieving accelerating/braking it drops down to 300 per tank. I used to see 250 per tank with a dodgy MAF/Lamdas.

Easy there guys tou must have your feet buried in the carpet! Mines been chipped by MTM for a supposed 460 (Doug says probably more like 440) and manages about 300-320 on a regular, 150 mile trip, traffic permitting.
First RS was standard 380 and managed about 260-280 on similar trips- I put it down to superior torque characteristics- have always run this and the previous one on V-power and Tesco 99 where available or Esso Super at a push- find BP is far and away the most expensive and everyone has their limits....
Cheers

Best I've ever seen on basically the same journey was about 27mpg, and I thought I was driving like a nun!!KiwiRS4 wrote:That's what I thought when I looked at the others on this forum. Typical scenario: 6th gear along the M4 from Windsor to Bristol return travelling at 80mph is approx 30mpg.
