New RS4 owner

Post by toomuch » Sat Jul 04, 2009 8:41 pm

Ive just got home in manchester after buying a Daytona Grey 07 saloon. What a drive that was. My other car is an M6 so i am well used to speed and to be fair its not as ferocious as the M6 but i enjoyed the car probbaly more.

The geearbox is really slick , the steering in sport mode is really accurate, the sound of the bloody thing is AWESOME, i love the car. I wasnt hanging around on the journey back and still got 22.7mpg. a similar journey in the M6 would have been 11mpg so really happy about that.

I like everything about it . One thing ill mention is how photos dont do the Daytona colour any justice. In sunlight it just pops blue and purple specks, its stunning and the car looks like its a car version of Mike tysons neck.....

Ill get some photos up tomorrow and ill be asking many questions. my pal jonathonturner has just bought a red one and in normal circumstances id say having the same car was highly gay, however this car is so special that im proud we have the same good taste.

Thanks guys

ive definatley got the best shape, ive got enough vans at work lol and for load lugging we use the ML

The colour is a lot better in the flesh, i suppose my first choice without seeing daytona was the sprint blue, but having seen the grey first hand, and to mock our cousins over the pond, daytona for the win.....

just taken the car for an hours blast.

Well all i can say is lizard.

lizard means <beep> mint, fabulous, excellent, you get the idea.

The car gives me so much confidence in the twisties im sure i can drive this faster the the M6.

The one negative is when im reallly pressing on there is some break judder.

should i get AUDI to replace the disks? or should i just upgrade to so brembo/ap's?

any help would e appreciated.

Steve.

Hello mate and Welcome!

Just so you know sport mode does nothing to the handle of the car or steering. it changes the throttle response and opens the exhaust flaps but that's it unless you have the seat bolsters on. :thumb:

with regards to brakes I would try your luck with whom ever you bought the car from and then go from there.

Well done and pleased to hear you like it so much.

Oh and also just to say I've played with an M6 and in the dry there was nothing really in it, but in the wet!! :bigwave:

Congrats Steve, great choice and selection of cars! M6, awesome but sometimes gives a bit of a midlife image. When I went to test drive with my father-in-law in tow, the sales folks thought he was the one interested in buying!

On the RS4 sound, wait till you hear the soundtrack of those folks with Millteks installed. I thought the stock sound was awesome until I made the mistake of "accidentally" buying and installing (story to the missus! :p) the Milltek unit.

Immense pleasure to be derived from slowly modding the car. Have fun!

Enjoy the car buddy, they are rather special :D

I hardly ever drive mine out of Sport either, no point when you can have that glorious V8 burble all the time.

You got the right shape but the wrong colour, daytona is nice (I looked at one when buying) but everyone knows Phantom Black is faster  8)

Phantom black all the way! Esp with SS+ to give it that slightly more planted, agressive, stance!
