Which RE-MAP?
I 'tuned' my '55 A4 2.0 TFSI using the eMotion system from CelticTuning. Made a huge difference and easy to reflash back to original when needed.
Question: they do a remap for my RS6 but doesnt mention gearbox. Is this essential and can it only be done through physical removal of the gearbox ECU??? Not really wanting that level of modification if not necessary. Prefer the less invasive approach through the OBD.

i know of 2 very good people in the northeast one flys round the world doing custom remaps on anything from normal road cars to full on race cars, and the other works as a tuner/engineer for a rally team, i would reccomend both of them very highly as they are very very very clever people.also if nearly everyone in here has a custom remap from the same company i wouldnt exactly call that custom because they map it how they like it and there tuning paramaters will be virtually identical for all s4's depending on certain mods, no offence intended to anyone.

Depends on the work...what its related to, is it performance related etc....
Gearbox problems can often raise an eyebrow and i wouldn't be surprised if the head technician starts asking about remaps etc.
More remedial tasks and you may not be asked any questions. I'd say some dealers are more relaxed in their approach than others.

It can't be seen as far as I know!
Have had my ESC updated twice now by Audi with no effect on mapping and they didn't find anything "untoward" nor did my TV unlocking show up.
After mapping I went through with VAGCOM and deleted out all codes relating to the updates happening.
Helps to have a good relationship with your Audi master techs and I have insured all the mods on my car legit!
