Thank you to all who have commented. I take on board your feedback as all on this site love their RS2s and speak from experience.

In the end, these cars are worth what people will pay. I hope to follow darkhorse's lead on this, but then again, perhaps he was lucky snd I may not be be so fortunate. Time will tell I suppose. In this climate, people are looking to stretch their pound further, and some may realise that selling may be the best way forward for them and they will have to accept that they will get less for it now then they would have a year ago - it is a buyers market.

I have no doubt that it may likely cost Darkhorse £15k in the end, but he will be very happy with his car and have no surprises at the end of it. Spending that amount of money upfront does not buy the extra confidence for the buyer, but that is my personal feeling on the matter, each to his own.

I hope people accept this post at face value and just my personal thoughts on the issue.

Yours in the spirit of my greatest hero - Wylie Coyote - he who never gave up !

Good luck and remember that rarety breeds value, and there is no point in the money staying in the bank at present so some are vanishing into collections (I know of 2) and there is only 80-100 left.
A friend of mine collects old (1700s-1800s) british pocket watches and hes' cash rich, at present the values, at auction, are shooting up (about 20% last month). Much the same as UR quattros, lotus cortinas etc. The rich are starting to hoard as they do.
So good luck I feel your car is there somewhere and with a sensible head they aren't too bad to run, but as I said before well worth it.
Cheers
