Andy, that is really thoughtfull of you, it really is but I must make myself do something to get myself motivated and not vegitate which would be so easy to do.Andyuk911 wrote:Graham,

When you guys club together and say how you can help me, it makes me feel so sad that it has all come down to this, I'm 60 in a couple of months time and now feel totally worthless and useless to society, I have trained a young lad for ten years and now the company I just about work for would choose him over me, I know it's the job and not the person but I still feel so hurt inside. If poor Hazel was not in the state she is in and by my side then I might be able to handle this better but now she is apart from me I feel I have nothing, nothing at all. I just want our lives and humility back.
This rambling of mine sounds so full whinging and I do appologise, I'm sure there are people more worse off than me and Hazel out there but to be honest, it doesn't feel like it at the moment
Cheers for all the back-up guys, thanks.
Graham

I know where you are coming from.
Last Wednesday I met up with 8 guys who I used to work with at one of the biggest "behind the scenes" suppliers of parts to the mobile phone makers. All nine of us are currently unemployed which is wasting over 220 years of experience. We designed the first 3G phone for NEC, many of the recent 2G, 2.5G & 3G phones for Samsung and BenQ, and countless others. But we are now all "unwanted". It took most of us a few months to come to terms with this, but now we are all pursuing other options to contribute to society (e.g. some are going into teaching).
When I was out of work (between contracts) 2 years ago my wife was in hospital for major surgery and it was actually very therapeutic for me to know I could spend time with her in hospital without worrying what my boss was thinking about the time I was having off. There is a silver lining to clouds!
