Powerflex bushes - is the ride harsh

Post by gareth215 » Tue May 12, 2009 12:14 pm

Hi, this is actually a question relating to a B5 RS4 but I hoped I might get a better reply from the S4 forum as maybe more of you have tried them!

I want to refresh my suspention and looking at changing all the bushes with either OEM or Powerflex ones as they seem to be cheaper.

But I dont want a crashy ride, what are peoples experoences of the Powerflex bushes? And in particular is the ride harsh and crashy?

Cheers

I find no issues with them, the ride still feels pretty fine to me with them on, though I did come over from an Integra which was a lot firmer feeling. Get the odd squeak now and then where they could probably do with regreasing or something, no biggy.
I am not certain where I have the bushes as the previous owner did it, I know I got them on the control arms up front because they where changed last years MOT (the arms not the bushes which are fine), I also have the RS4 suspension on there (again, I think I do, certainly Mikey said it was changed out IIRC)

I have the powerflex on the front upper control arms.. if feels great so far. no issues as of yet.
Honestly it just feels like the front end is tight and the rear a bit sloppy so I might do the rear uppers as well just to balance it out...
Then again my whole car is almost urethene... autospeed motor/tranny/dts/diff... snub/and control arms... its going to be stiff...
