Hello all,
I drive an Audi S8 (D2 shape), which is currently up for sale in the classifieds. I am looking at possible options with what to replace it with, and like the idea of an S4 (2003/4).
Does anyone have any experience of driving both cars? I am just a bit worried of them being very similar. They both weigh "roughly" the same, both have the same engine, S8 has 360bhp vs S4 with 344bhp. Even the dash board looks incredibly similar lol
There aren't any for sale which are local to me, so I am unable to test drive one.
Anyone have any thoughts?

Never driven or owned an S8 but the S8 weighs 260kg more than a S4, saloon, so the weights are not way near roughly. The S4 will handle better and be quicker than the S8. There will be similarities between the two, they are Audi’s, but their characteristics will be totally different.
Drive one. That is the best way of finding out.

having gone from an RS 6 to an S4, the weight difference and size difference was very noticable, in the favour of the S4
The RS 6 felt like a barge with a jet tubine attached. . .whereas the S4 felt alot more like a sports car, alot more nimble (in the manual)
I would imagine this is how it would feel moving from an S8 to an S4, much smaller but much "sportier" . . . also, I imagine cabin will feel much more modern
