Looking for an RS6 without DRC & general advice.
Hi,
I'm a new user here and I'm looking at buying an RS6.
I want one that already has the DRC removed & replaced with coils & dampers (not just fixed / replaced with a new Audi suspension) and has had the cambelt service done in the last 10k miles. It also needs to be in the south of England (ideally not too far from north Essex). I want to spend around £17k, but could stretch a little further for a well sorted example with new tyres, pads, etc (i.e. something I don't have to spend too much on in the next 12 months). I've just sold my old car, have the cash to spend and am already sick of taxis / lifts from friends, so would like to get something now. I've spotted 3 cars on PistonHeads that fit my requirements, but have only been able to make contact with one of the owners so far. If anyone out there is thinking of selling or knows of something I should be looking at, please contact me.
On to the advice bit. Apart from the suspension anything I should look out for, warning signs & sounds, places to check, etc.
Also what about cars with decat downpipes? I had a heavily modified Impreza several years ago and it was a huge pain getting the cats swapped over just for the MOT. I ended up with a high flow sports cat in the end. I assume a de-cat RS6 will give similar problems at MOT time, so anyone know roughly how much it would cost to put some sports cats in and if it would then require a re-map.
Cheers,
Phil.

Thanks for the help people. I ended up buying Arfa's car. I had to go up to Leeds at the last minute to see family, so it all worked out quite nicely. Sorry kev, forgot to mention in the original post that I was only interested in an Avant - the extra practicality argument helped convince my wife why I really needed an RS6.
Thanks,
Phil.
Thanks,
Phil.
