I know it's not an Audi but I'm after one of these if anyone knows of one for sale.

I've driven the 115 hp version of these and it was a fine car I would imagine the higher HP engine would be good. I believe they can be remapped/chipped to 180. Torque steer anyone.

I got my misses the 150gt tdi, fantastic car i would go for this model
if you can,as it has the slightly better suspension and sits 20mm lower.
She now has the 4 motion, another great car till it comes to fuel consumption
On a par with my rs4
Drive low,park lower

Thanks guys, I drove a 130 the other day and it was good fun.

I would get it remapped and i've read that they both remap to 180 so it's a case of finding the right one at the right price either 130 or 150.

As for the lower suspension I'd rather get the 150 for this but can always upgrade this if not.

Andy, sent you a PM

a 150 is a better engine for tuning than a 130 but it depends what you want and how far you want to go, a 130 running 180 bhp will eat the standard clutch in a week if you are hard on it , seen them slip in a couple of days, a 150 will go 195 but then its the same <beep> with the clutch its the weakness in these wagons

Sorry but i disagree,i have 2 mate's one with a 150 bhp and one with the audi tdi both running over 200bhp and they kill there cars every where and they have had no problems at all.
My girlfriends golf 4 motion is 220 bhp and these diesel are atleast as quick.

Maybe some models or years were better than others and as you know with cars there is no consistency

ive got a 3 door 150 gti tdi golf if its of any intrest 2002 with 145k on the clock fvwsh, heated leather,silver,6 disc, walnut,i would estimate its at about 170/180 bhp as it requests 2900 mbar of boost at 3k rpm !
1999 S4 bi turbo imola yellow,grey pearl wheels,now with KO4's.

get them on to a rolling road , i would doubt if they are over 200 bhp if they were they would beat the 4 motion.
i am talkin genuine bhp not the usual bullshit claimed figures.
most 130 tdis remapped are claimed 185 ish bhp where in reality they are more like 165 some even less

They have and both were just over 200bhp,they have not just been remapped
but i'm not sure of the full specs. My girlfriends 4mo has also been rolling roaded at 221bhp.
Its been mapped, stainless and milltech 100cel cats and filter.
I don't need to talk bullshit figures,i can tell you what my rs4 is if you want.
Don't make statements, when you don't know the facts.
I do know what you mean about bullshit figures though everyone is at it.
When i had a 400+ bhp escort cossie,everyone i spoke to knew someone who's was 500bhp.
I'm not sure they all had 30 grand to get them to that power.
Drive low,park lower

m8 what are you talkin about ?
i do know the facts about diesel tuning you obviously do not , i was giving the guy some advice.
i know what a standard clutch can take on these cars and i know it always bites the dust first if your m8s is still ok it cant be standard or it cant have the power its that simple.

Still looking, I'm going to go for the 150 version if possible and just keep the engine standard...

That's nearly 3 atmospheres - sure you don't mean 1900mbar of boost (2900 above vacuum)?

2900mbar would be 43 psi - which means the ends of the intercooler will have a load approaching half a ton on them..... I've had an intercooler blow itself apart at less than half that boost pressure.

P.S. Sorry for the thread hijack...

Interesting thread since I'm looking at a Skoda Fabia vRS as a runabout, that has the 130 engine.

The vRS doesn't seem to be much cheaper than the Golf?

Interesting thread to keep rolling for a bit. I believe the 150 had uprated conrods. Any other anoracks know anything special to the 150.
