Perfect post Jim - agree 100%
Thanks Dom,

Just telling the truth really. It is a great car and I love mine to bits!!!
No seriously, i was behind 2 bikes, we were overtaking traffic. They were stepping on it, with me behind, redlining every gear, i overtook at about 150 !
Maybe they bottled it then?
I remember 1 bike was painted in rizzla colur blue?
Dont know anything about bikes so....

Gareth make no bones about it, they either bottled it or just couldn't ride fast! I too have had battles with bikes in the RS and yes i've run them close even beaten some but rider abilty is huge! I know if a better rider was in the saddle no chance! on my old bike i've destroyed Ferrari's, 911 turbo's etc the RS is a fast car but compared to a super bike it's sluggish!

I know your part of the world very well though and you're are lucky to have such great roads! I have done Hereford to Aberystwyth in 59 minutes in my C5 RS6 that was shifting!!

most touring bikes pwn cars, never mind sprts bikes, I never even bother, I always let bikes past, I think bikers need all the help they can get with all the sh*te drivers on the roads

Nick very well said.

Gareth this will give you an idea of what i'm talking about.

Lambo Gallardo which is without doubt faster than any RS4, watch what this standard GSXR1000 does to it. then back on topic yeah!! lol

Nurburgring.....

Sorry to jump in late down the order guys..................mac4rs, I've asked a mate of mine (the guy that was with me at the RR test) he works for 'What Car' and some of the guys in the office do the Nurburgring thing a couple of times a year so he's getting some info from them guys tomorror.

I'll start a new thread with it tomorrow so we dont clutter up the RR thread

Going back to the debate about rolling road figures.....

Found this in the rs4 handbook....p194-196

"The electronic differential lock prevents the loss of traction caused if one wheel starts spinning"
"The abs and EDL cannot be deactivated using the esp button"

Is this the answer???

I still get a big smile on my face after nearly 3 years of daily driving my RS4 - I had a couple of S4s beforehand and believe me the RS4 is in a completely different league.

3 months into S4 ownership I wanted more power (I could hold the right pedal to the metal and think "yeah so what?"), never had that feeling from the RS4. When my wife sees me drop from 6th gear to 3rd she knows the scenery is gonna start moving much faster.

Officially the RS4 produces 70PS more than the S4, and my "arse dyno" ain't about to disagree with that.

Some very good posts here, the arse dyno and the car's performance should be the deciding factor in whether you think you have a problem. I have no idea what my RS4 would produce on the dyno, and not sure I care too much. I've come to it from a series of very quick cars, mostly in the 350 to 420 bhp mark, and the Audi feels savagely fast, that's good enough for me!

again, please...does anyone know what the parameter 'TN" is on the charts?
iirc it's the overall gear ratio, gear x final drive...but it doesn't seem to match the RS4 ratio's

they measure wheel torque and divide by gear ratio to arrive at crank torque

Well .. I suppose you could ask in the US .. However a bit of 'tinternet reveals the following.

The UK phone number 01483 600 208(and I did call , no answer) on the Dyno Dynamics site leads to a forum called efi101.com. Looking at that leads to a user called Gadgeroonie.

I suspect the number above is his home number as I can't see how you would sell enough Dynos to make a living.

If you google Gadgeroonie you can find his Youtube channel and also Paramount's(they are a subscribed user to him :) .. worth a look.

The Paramont Dyno seems relatively new. One could potentially conclude recent software levels as well ... so this is all building to a picture.

Since a number of us have been to Surrey RR, we need to determine the age of that Dyno and what software level it is running ... then we might start finding apples v apples and a better understanding of the numbers.

Perhaps the next day we should invite Gadgeroonie along .. seems only to be in Guildford area
