Parrot CK3100 in RS4 B5

I know this has been discussed a few times in the past, but seems strange that there are different solutions to the problem.

Reading through previous posts, and other forums, I've come across three different 'stated' solutions to the issue of eliminating the external speaker provided with some Parrot installations, and having the Parrot route the call audio to come through the car's speakers.

1) Connect the Parrot MUTE wire (yellow) to the TEL MUTE and the LINE level wires (green\brown) from the parrot to the TEL+ & TEL- connector block on the back of the head-unit.

2) Connect the Parrot MUTE wire (yellow) to the TEL MUTE and the splice the front speaker wires from the parrot loom and join them to the TEL+ & TEL- connector block on the back of the head-unit.

3) It can't be done without the inclusion of additional wiring loom adapters, but there are different types.

I current have the TEL MUTE wire (yellow) connected to the TEL connector, and the Parrot front speaker wires connected to the external speaker, which works to mute the radio, and displays TELEFON, and then sends the call audio to the external speaker, but it is rubbish when travelling and and worse if you have the Milltek (like me)

I've reconfigured the wiring according the suggestions in options 1 & 2, but I still can't get any call audio out of the car's speakers.

My car has the standard Symphony RS4 head unit.

Does anyone else have the CK3100 fitted to there Symphony head-unit, and if so how did they have it connected?

1) is the only correct solution.

2) puts the output stages of the amps in the Parrot and the Symphony in parallel and there's a risk each will feed the other and do some terminal damage.

3) is complete bullsh.t

BTW you do have to setup the Symphony to enable the phone mute using the menu options...

Any ideas why mines doesnt won't work according to the option 1? Is there any coding of the radio necessary?

My radio IS muting when asked via the yellow cable, I just I cant get anything Parrot audio through the car speakers.

Have you tried going into the setup menu to see if there is a phone volume setting? - IIRC there is something like that.

And have you tried turning up the volume on both the phone AND the Symphony when you're in a call - the overall volume id the product of both of those.

There is a phone volume setting, "Turn-on volume setting", so not related to Telephone settings.

Tried turning the sound up more than the radio, and also the parrot on the dial button on the parrot unit.

The Telephone volume needs to be set up as well - otherwise the phone will send very quiet audio over Bluetooth to the Parrot.

Sounds like you need to try adjusting the phone volume, the Parrot volume and the radio volume when in a call.

i had exactly the same problem with the colour screen parrot and ended up getting it fitted for £45 when all i need to do was use an additional wire from the speaker output direct to the speaker as well as the mute cable which seems strange but works now i have concert system with bose
