I've never owned a kenwood - is the sound quality, not necessarily volume, on a par with the RNS-D ?

Looks really good and with ISO connections, you can transfer easily enough to another car with a double-din stereo without much hassle.

I think I'm talking myself into this
The sound is simply superb!! whether Movie or Mp3 etc. I wasn't expecting much of an improvement with having BOSE to begin with but was pleasantly surprised.

looks great, much better interface... frustrating that OEM technology on ICE is normally a good 2 years old by time of release of the "new" vehicle.

Hi
At night is the Kenwood display red to match the other audi trim lighting or is it blue (which most tend to be these days).
Cheers

Joules can you post a pic of it at night please, it does seem great value and I think I can live without the dash display.

Yes but the RNSE is overpiced, boring and dated, and has nowhere near the functionality or sound quality of the latest touch screen aftermarket offerings...

The only thing IMO that the aftermarket has over the RNS-E is the touch screen function. Overpriced....I don't think so.....depends where you buy from!

RNS-E can be expanded to use BT, TV, has SD, etc, etc. Looks OEM obviously.

Each to their own. Plus more risk of getting the aftermarket unit knicked, as will fit any car!

It is each to their own but lets be honest is does look OEM. In fact my brother who has had numerous sweet cars now an (09) 997T viewed my car for the first time today and thought it was OEM.

With regards which is better, for an impartial view check out Kenwood yourself on the following link then check out the RNS-E on a search. It wont take long for you to ascertain the pros and cons.

Oh in the above the excellent 'voice dialling' feature is not covered.

RNS-E is knickable too and comes out quicker with the right keys, but to be fair both are easy to take.

Totally agree.

The RNSE doesn't even come into the picture. A more worthwhile comparison is between the Kenwood you have and the Pioneer:

Looks far better than OEM to me... :)
