From what he says it will fit in an RS4 with the standard audio. Is this right or is he trivialising what it would take to fit it?

No idea. From what I have read there is more to it than just 'plug it in', but he says he has fitting instructions too...

...I am, although I doubt I'll pay the winning price! I entered £250 and was immediately out bid. Any idea what these have gone for in the past or what is a reasonable price?

I think I'd want to make sure that it can be installed. If it fits just like a car radio then fine but I had all sorts of issues fitting the new facelifted interior to my S4, the aircon control unit for example was plug and play except that it didn't light up. So you plug the Nav Plus in and then find that there is no way to get it to illuminate at night (becuase in my example the lighting is contriolled by the cars electronics not just a 12+V supply)

Not sure how to do it but it would be worth checking if at all possible.

The other caviat is the condition of the unit. I bought a Symphony unit from ebay but the condition was poor.

Mind you if it works then well worth really getting behind the bid Dave. Just make sure you win it

£510 already, and nearly 10 days to go...
Doesn't look good if you are after a bargain, and as Joshie says - for that money you'd want to know that it was going to work...

Yes - that's out of my price range now. I really don't need SatNav Plus (I hardly ever use my SatNav) so it would have to be a real bargain for me. I suppose it would need to be a broken one in need of repair...

See this has now reached £720!!! I understand it is not as easy to fit as he is making out and entails modifying the wiring loom

I had expected that for an upgrade from SatNav it would be an easy fit. All a bit academic for me tho' as £720 is waaaay more than I would want to pay.

Dippy, Sorry I was talking about replacing a Symphony system with no Sat Nav

No way it is an easy fit for anyone with a concert head unit - they'll need a new DIN cradle (£100+), cowling £20, ashtray £45 and I would seriously doubt if the looms are as compatible as the seller says they are.

Oh and of course there's the "slight blemish" - yeah, right

Probably good that you didn't contine Dave - especially as you already have SatNav

It would appear that the seller has changed the unit that is being sold, as the "new" one has no blemishes and even has the original protective film on the display.

Yes I have SatNav, but this unit is SatNav Plus! Audi did (still do?) 3 flavours of SatNav:
1) SatNav where the controls are by the handbrake, the DIS is used for the display and the Nav CD is in the back.
2) SatNav Plus with the colour LCD, controls and Nav CD in the centre console (I think DIS is also used).
3) SavNav Plus with TV - which has a tuner as well.
