hi guys,
I have recently replaced the bushes (power flex), shocks (Bilstein PSS9) on my B5 RS4. initial impression is the bush kills all the wierd sound when going on and off the bump. However for the PSS9, it seems to me its quite a bit bumpy, in particular at the rear end. However I can tell it can absort the tinny bumps and with excellent corner characteristics.
My initial setting is F/R: 7,8. tonight I have played around few setting and changed it to 7,1 & 4, 9. when I set to 1 I can immediately notice its much firmer and bouncy at rear. for 4,9, I cant feel big difference compare to what I setup initially, but I decided to let go first and try for a few days at least.
The installer suggested me to let the car run in for at least 1000km before proceed to any adjustment. I have a feeling that the spring rate is quite a bit too stiff that cause the problem, so should i run in it and let it turns "softer" (hopefully) after some time?
Thanks

Let it settle for a while. Mine dropped 10mm and I have mine set on 6 for everyday driving and 1 when on track.
I find that is fine for me. The car now sits 55mm to wheel arch front and back on 19" MTM's. Very happy indeed with the set up

Does take quite a while to get this setup to your liking.
I have tried to get the ride height set where I want it, before messing around with the damping. Found the fronts were way too low out of the box.
And yes definitely let it settle for around a couple of weeks.
BTW, ride height does make a big difference on ride quality

I started on 6 but now on 9 all round - which I like for London. Ride heights, the rears have settled more than the fronts so not optimal yet. Not been on track yet. I am going to have the ride heights and corner weighting done at centre gravity in a week or so, which should bring out the best in the set up......
Will let you know what Chris sets the heights to and report back but overall I am very happy with the vast improvement over stock damping.

Thanks for all you guys comment! I notice there are quite a lot of people having similar experience as me, some said after run in I will get a much better ride. So I hope this applies to me... finger cross
Yes I think I will leave it as is now, right now the height is about 1.5fingers clearance (I know its not very precise but this can give an idea).
