Post by N11LS_J » Wed Mar 25, 2009 1:26 pm

Gents

I have a boost leak from one of the inlets on the 'Y pipe', does anyone have the part number as Audi state you can't buy the seal, and need to replace the entire pipe???

Hoping someone can help, please see exactly which seal is required in picture below

078 133 148 D o-ring, costs about € 2,25 ex VAT. This is the one between the Y-intake duct and the pressure pipe.

Just solder them together.
The charge pressure pipes are tightened with only 1 bolt, they will always leak ;)

Andrea, shouldn't there be some flex in the joint hence the seal?

nills .you will always get leaks from those joints . the only way to get rid of the leaks is for someone to weld them round= no more leaks.l the charge pipes are bolted to the cam covers and the link pipes to the intercoolers are flexis. if you go down this route you need to take both charge pipes off and remove the o rings then put it back together and get the charge pipes tacked to the ypipe in situ then take it off again and get them seam welded :biggrin2:

Mines is leaking as well, Grizz picked it up at the last service.
Who's had their's welded already, does it involve pull the front end forward to disconnect the alloy charge pipes?

Mine were given a hefty seeing to with silicone sealer when MRC detected a leak in the same place- sorted! Can see an alloy weld fracturing at some point.....
