Ells109,
Did you have to pay for the second repair or did they carry out under warranty, all audi parts carry a 2 year guarantee, so by rights you should have got second fix for free.

Well after being told by Audi in the past that my car had already had the DRC replaced on it.
I take it into Audi on Monday because the NSR shock is leaking, and the front is riding extremely low. Plus I've got a rattling noise on the car. In addition, the backend is side-stepping on roundabouts and when I go over bumps in the road - which is a bit unnerving when you're doing 70 on the motorway and the backend steps out on a badly repaired bit of road....

They've now just called me to say, actually the car does still have the DRC on it.... :?
And apparently the NSR shock is leaking, the OSR is knackered, and the top mount is loose and worn, which is what's causing the rattling, and banging noises...... Grizz I'll be calling you in a few mins.

So add me to the list of DRC failures.....
62k Mileage RS6 Avant 02 - All out of warranty, DRC leaking. Current "Live" problem, and certainly not paying the £1060 that Audi want to fix the DRC system with another DRC system.

However, to give the Service and technician guys their due's, everyone I spoke to down there has said they don't understand why Audi are still fitting the DRC system. They wouldn't keep fitting/fixing them, but Audi won't let them fit anything else - so their hands are tied.

Hi Rilla

Thanks for your message ,here are my issues with DRC.
March /April 2008 recharged system at franchiesd Audi repair garage in Edinburgh , bad handling was sorted £110+. November 2008 on my from school after picking one child and then on my way to pick up the other. Massive explosion on nearside front ,large cloud of smoke and no visability ended up hitting kerb ,badly scuffed wheel and daughter badly shacken and I was sweating my arse off. Managed to limp car home and then onto Audi Edinburgh within that week replaced n/s/f flexi pipe at cost of £488.65 mmmm thanks WARRANT DIRECT would not cover. Took car to Grizz for timing belt change xmas 2008 .From Edinburgh to Grizz found car handling badly on the motorway very unnerving. Grizz found car unstable and thought shocker/s may need replaced, thankfully no leaks but thought the system was not repreasured properly. Took back to Edinburgh Audi 14/01/09 and their only issue with the car was that it was handling badly because of the lack of grip on tyres suggested to my that they needed changed and no issue with DRC. From mid February09 have been unable to drive car because of suspession crashing.Managed to get an independed Audi Master Tech to look at it today to find that the car has failed with same problem but to the rear off side this time , will be taking into Audi Edinburgh today or tomorrow. Thank god the failure this time was unnoticed while driving. Not looking forward to addressing this problem with the warranty company or Audi to be frank. I do feel for the chap that had his explosion on the motorway , mine was bad enough in the town. I am of the same mind as you that it will take a death to make this issue go away.

So they're basically saying that you're driving badly on poor roads and that's why the DRC is failing?

I suggest that everyone in the list above writes a postal letter to the author of the top bit (is that Kelly also?), detailing the problems and the work we've had done. I doubt she'll be able to claim it's not a known issue after she gets 2 dozen letters turn up at once.

What a crock.

Total fob-off letter the gits.

I honestly believe that the DRC problems will well and truly bite Audi on the bottom one day and I can't wait.

Here is what really annoys me though. I have contacted BBC Watchdog on so many occasions, that I've now lost count. It gets me so insensed that they are constantly featuring cars on their programme but still haven't contacted me regarding ours. Hell, they haven't even sent a reply back to me in any way, shape or form. Over the last couple of years they have featured the following car stories:

BMW Mini power steering failure
Vauxhall Vectra 2.2, Signum 2.2, Zafira 2.2 fuel pump/regulator problem
Nissan Navara D22 engine failure problem
Ford Focus instrument cluster failure problem
Volvo XC90 catching fire problem (I'd call that a problem)
Vauxhall Vectra handbrake releasing itself whilst there is no-one in the car problem
Vauxhall Corsa catching fire prob...(disaster)
Vauxhall (several models) Idler wheel in engine problem
Volvo ETM (electronic throttle management) and sudden loss of power problem
Renault Clio bonnet catch problem - bonnet flies open and smashes windscreen, leaves you blind (this was a major problem featured over several weeks)
And who can forget the Audi TT dashpod problem - so they do feature Audis(!)

As you can see from that list, BBC Watchdog have featured (in the voice of Commandant Lassard from Police academy) many, many cars on their programme, including as said above, the Audi TT. Now I appreciate that they would only cover a story on-air only if enough people get in touch. They may very well have a few people on their books that have contacted them about the DRC issues, but clearly not enough. I urge all of you reading this with an Audi RS4 or RS6 that has/is suffering from DRC related failures to contact BBC Watchdog, so that we can finally get across our plight, via the BBC, to not only Audi, but raise awareness of this problem to the entire country. The DRC failure contributions threads in the RS4 and RS6 sections on here now total well over a hundred and that is just on here. Imagine how many owners there are with problems that aren't a member of this board. Please please please, visit the BBC Watchdog 'got a story' page so that we can at least get their attention. To all those thinking "Yeah yeah, can't be arsed, they'll never feature our cars.." take another look at the list of featured cars above (live on-air remember) and think to yourself if they can feature a Volvo with an ETM fault, then surely they can feature a top-of-the-range Audi with one of the most expensive faults in Watchdog car history. Not just that, but an Audi that relies very heavily on it's sports suspension that has been developed specifically for our cars; suspension so vital, that the slightest leak, loss of pressure, mismatched height, incorrect recharge pressure, compromise in any way, results in a car that has it's road safety and others' road safety compromised. The comfort - compromised. The overall driving experience - compromised! Should we be putting up with that? HELL NO!!!

I have been thinking about watch dog aswell
If all RS6 and RS4 owners fill in the forms at the same time and submit in a similar time frame with the facts we have on this thread then surely they will respond 50+ e-mails in one go about the samething???

This letter just made me see red and I couldn't even be bothered to reply
It is not the girls fault, she is just following her little flow chart on her desk with her preprogrammed answers

tech refused to phone me, maybe I was to technical for them, who knows only worked for Audi for 8 years

I think they forget that the prided themselves back in 02 with the launch of this car and the cost when released

Hi everybody, bit of a newby here, been following this thread for few days now, my RS6 Avant LT52 NRY has four leaking shocks, drives like a balloon and having coilovers fited next week. Previous owner had rear shocks and valve replaced by audi dealer in essex (for allot of money!)
