I used to have an fq340 and I currently have a b5 rs4 with mrc re-map. In a straight line there is very little in it but its in the corners the rs suffers, thats when you notice the weight difference the most. I wouldn't have another evo though, its too much of a compramise. Its fine to drive on the open road but around town they are terrible!

Quite surprised at some of their comments, I thought it would be a bit of a slagging off but quite the opposite.
Agreed, I'm a bit surprised too. I don't go around racing everyone, that's not Audi like. But I really hate people racing up my a**e, and then get angry. hence this!
in other cars ive had when someone came up close behind me id floor it irrelevant if the car behind was faster or not. but when they do it sometimes to the rs well its rude not to teach them a lesson! :)
One thing that always makes me smile is letting them get on the bumper in say third at mid revs and then just planting the right foot and watching them in no time at all becoming further and further on the horizon :D

Sometimes the likes of Golf's etc.. I let them catch up by burning gallons of fuel and do the same again, then let them pass me at the next set of lights, usually it's some kids who give the odd smile and wave or some disgruntled looking Porsche driver who is gutted that this Deutscheestatewagen has just annihilated their mid-life crisis spunk mobile.

Exactly, this is why we own these vehicles,
I had a quick evo 6 years back when they 1st come out 400 plus bhp, autronics ecu etc.
In a straight line the rs4 is quicker but on the twisties the evo would win even with my audi having coilovers and rollbars,
depending on driver obviously.

I still like the evo's but you cant get away from the boyracer stigma,
in the audi i love suprising all the boyracers in the audi's stealth mode

SimonGolfTT, a friend of MRC Doug's has a Stage 2 Noggy with gutted downpipes and did a 3.8 0-60 at GTI International 2007.
There isn't much on the road that can do that..

That's what i love so much about my UR totally standard to look at 0-60 3.5 0-100 8.5. I'm sure there's something quicker out there but not come up against it yet..
