You are indeed a very lucky man for being able to own, let alone have the space to house, two sublime cars. I'm not envious at all.

Thanks for the kind comments ...

Yesterday's drive of some 600 miles proved just how right I was not selling the C5. Most of the day it rained but french motorways proved to be just far superior to our UK roads. French drivers just know to move to the slow lane to let cars pass. The only difficult part of the driving was getting through the "rain curtains" sprayed out by the lorries.

The Audi was solid on its quattro drivetrain the whole journey, its power re assuring & I easily managed 80 to 110 mph the whole way.

Having briefly driven the C6 I am suitably impressed. A bigger wider car, accurate steering but light at very low speeds and believe me, she achieves speeds with such confidence and smoothness that you just don;t realise you're travelling. Gearbox revs / change is not perfect but I think that will just take time .

very nice, notice they are both de-badged too! out of the 2, if you had to pick, what would it be?

Thank you ...

Both debadged front and rear.

Good question .... I collected the C6 on March 1 2009 and have covered less than 100 miles; On March 4 I drove 600 miles to France with the C5, and have not driven the C6 since.

Based on 6 years of owning the C5 I have proved the point that my C5 is not for sale; the C6 has not been with me long enough to make a fair comparison of the two.

The question this raises to me is... I loved my C5, 3 years of glorious ownership, but to spend the significant money on cost to change to C6, it would need to be a significant improvement in ownership experience (whichever your personaly after out of bigger, faster, smoother, more efficient, improved dynamics, aesthetics, gadgets, comfort, thrill, shock, horror)... it should rip your C5 out of your hands and banish it to the distant past... fond memories, but never to be used again!?

Unless you can have both of course ;)
Present:...
Lotus Evora GT410 Sport, Caterham 420R, CCM Spitfire, VW T2 Bay Window 1976

Past:
DB11 AMR, 992, 991.2, Yamaha MT01, 640d Gran Coupe, 635d Coupe, RS6 C5, Audi TT 225 Coupe, Astra with wind up windows, Citroen ZX, Rover 213, yes behold, a Rover 213... Renault 5

Steve, I understand your point of view. I took the decision to buy the V10 (which I'll eventually upgrade to a stage 1 700 bhp) as future issues affecting cars such as "carbon, green and pedestrian safety" may mean that we'll never see a V10 or even a V8 uberwagon again.

The C5 is now based at my house in France & the C6 on UK roads, and without meaning to appear brash, I'm now looking to add a 5th car to my collection.
