Re: RS Drivers' Challenge 2003 - Who's going?
Yep agreed, 1000 notes is alot of money (I could do a hostile takeover of my local £1 shop for that amount)! I think we should wait and see what Oliver has to say about it all first thing Monday! I personnaly think it is a bit of a poor show them cancelling half of the weekend on us at such a late stage especially when they know that most attendees will have already made their arrangemnents around their published schedule! Isn't it this lot (quattro) who we have booked the factory visit in with aswell? If it is they should be fully aware that will are going to be in their presence/ hospitality from Thursday! lets just wait and see!
Spa, Ring - yes fine aslong as were not hit 290 euros for just 40 minutes on track at Hocky the day before (im not made of money unfortunately and If i were there would probably be nothing left!)
Regardless of whatever is happening I have already booked my crossing which im pretty sure is non-refundable or exchangable. If the plans are going to be changed to the end ot the week then I am off to the Dam for a couple of days beforehand to chill (this is only the 2nd week I have had off this year and I'm going on holiday! I'm not going to pay twice for the crossing, this will put me up for two nights in Amsterdam!
All I ask is that we are kept upto date with the information as it comes in.
Vinny.

Vinny, not wanting to sound like I'm trying to put you off but most ferry companies will allow you to cancel and just charge you a £10 admin fee.

Can't be ar$sed with all the bickering
This trip was talked about 6 months ago
why change it with ten days to go after we have organised relief staff, booked ferrys etc
If you want to come late do so, but don't grizzle this late in the game about the itinary
I note that no one put their hands up to organise it and left it to Phil and JR as usual
Is the karting cancelled? - first I have heard of it
If I'm going by myself I will contact Brabus and see if they do factory visits (factory is in Germany somewhere - can't be that hard to find )
kc
10 days to go - can't wait

Re: RS Drivers' Challenge 2003 - Who's going?
We all want to go and Im sure we are all looking forward to it as much as everyone else is, I know I am.
I dont think that is what the problem is here.
I had to sit and justify the cost of this holiday before commiting to go. I felt that the experience I would receive would be well worth the time and money it was going to cost me (£1000 and 6 days off), a day at the Audi factory, a day on the Kart track for some close action racing and then a day at hocky for some serious driving.................. now its seems as though what was to be a full 3 day back to back event in the middle of a 6 day holiday has been changed at the last minute to a 2 day split event and we are all being told to go and find something else to do with the time that should already be set out for us in the cost we are going to be paying. Fine if you have somwhere else to go and do but what are the rest suppose to organise in such a short time? Whatever it is we do (if there is no karting) it will be costing us even more money than originally intended!
Really dont mean to go on guys, sorry!
Still want to go as I have every intension on walking away with the trophy!

Re: RS Drivers' Challenge 2003 - Who's going?
Team 'Phonti' hey? Which one operates the pedals and which one does the steering?
You seem to be a bit mistaken there my good fellow, the trophy will be coming back across the channel with me (I just hope it's not the 'penis of the week' trophy for stuffing my car!).
Lets wait until tommorow Conti and see what Phil finds out, if there is still no joy then yes If you could arrange that for us on the friday I will definately go! In the mean time it might be worth you finding out where a good karting track is thats not to far away from where we are staying in case we need it (1hr drive?).

Yeah, I fee the same way as Vinny, my slight difference is lack of finances and £1k is a lot for me at the moment so I'm not sure.
I don't want to let anyone down but at same time life has to come first.
I'm going to pull out - really sorry if I've let anyone down, JR, glad to hear there are no hard feelings.
