With the sort of expensive low profile tyres the RS4 is fitted with you should get a full four wheel alignment check and reset done EVERY TIME you have new tyres fitted. If the alignment is out and a tyre wears out in 1000 miles it gets very expensive...

I think, this ±10% can be absolute tolerate.
The question is, if 275/35 had have enough space!

'fraid not, it is ILLEGAL for a car manufacturer to put on sale a car with a speedo that read lower than actual speed.

When I worked for a car manufacture that delayed the launch of one model until we got the speedo sorted...

The speedo MUST read in the range -0% to +10% of true speed on any new car for it to get EU Type Approval.

I`ve just fitted 4x275/35/19 ps2 to my rs4 on a set of brand new oem wheels, I also have bilstein pss9 , not oem drc suspension, which means the car is a bit lower. the tires don`t rub anywhere on the inside or the outside ,neither when steering is at maximum angle (right or left) but the rear seems to rub a bit on the inside of the rear quarter when hitting very big bumps at speed (suspension going max travel ). The car now looks disgusting, like a monster truck.Ride comfort is very good and the extra height of the wheel doesn`t let the wheel move on the rim (sidewall is rigid enough). Pics of the car on these tires will come when i get to clean the car.

Let me put it this way : the quality of roads in Romania and near-by countries is <beep> . Romania only has 2 high-ways ,each about 150 km long and those in pretty bad shape. I regularly travel the full length of one each weekend about two times (250km each way journey from where I have college to my home city). Quality of roads in Bulgaria is even worse (I have about 3-4 journeys each year to Turkey and Greece, requiring me to travel about 350 km in Bulgaria each time). The arguments to wether or not these tires are a good choice are as follows : aesthetics and ergonomics. Aesthetics wise I really don`t like them, I guess its not THAT bad but they look wrong .... Ergonomics wise they will surely save me one or two rims (i have to change about two rims a year because they get so severely dinged and bent that they can`t be repaired or are unsafe at the speeds this car can develop).Another argument on having these tires is they actually increase ride comfort without making turns feel like the car is on gelatin tires (I had a set of 225/40/18 slick rally tires on 18 ultraleggeras and the car was feeling kinda funky).
It all boils down to : I will probably opt for 275/30/19 next time arround but it`s only for aesthetic reasons.....
