Windscreen

Post by doustsi1 » Wed Feb 11, 2009 8:39 pm

Had a bird strike recently Thats what they call it when your flying . Windsreen people seem to be struggling to get the correct screen. Anyone else had this problem. Its the way the trim piece that covers the wiper linkage area fits to the screen and the shape of therubber that is bonded to it at the top corners.

Beware what screen they do fit when thet eventually find it. I had mine replaced by Admiral last month and they fitted it with an Athermic one. Meant i had to get aerials for my gps and road angel as they dont work with the athermic screen.

Ah...yes the red was a bit of shock when i first saw it. But its grown on me. As for the bird, it was a Partridge before it disintegrated.

Gosh, that's a mess. I hit a partridge in a Renault 21 turbo at around 130mph on a runway in Norfolk....it went right through the headlamp unit, glass, reflector and casing and finished up in the engine bay. I also hit one in a Piper Cherokee just after landing, that one dented the leading edge of the wing so badly we had to leave the aircraft at the field and get a lift back! They are well worth avoiding!

See, there you have a great reson to suppport your local and national BASC (British Assoc' for shooting and conservation). I suggest twin front mounted Berrettas, 12 bore, No. 6 shot should do the trick
It's all Bollox.

Christ on a bike thats some image (and some highly amusing banter!). Can't they use that crack repair resin

The most painful aspect will be seeing them hack off the old screen  Not a pleasant thing to witness.
