S4 Tyres

Post by DavidT » Fri Jan 31, 2003 3:57 pm

Quick one before I go down to the tyre place.

I was thinking of Michelin Pilot Sport - good choice ?

Car had Pirelli's when I got it which I was pleased with, but they only did 9k miles, this set of Pirelli's are crap but have done 16k miles - do they do different compounds ?

Toyo, Toyo, Toyo, Toyo and one for the spare wheel too.
Great in the dry, great in the wet, and 2ft snow drifts down some single track lanes last night confirmed how good they were.
Need I say more.

Thanks guys, never even thought of Toyo, seen them mentioned here a hundred times doh! Do I need to ask for a specific type ?

Iain, i'll call Jeffreys, they are at Cantilever aren't they. Used to drive past it every day on the way to work till they closed the office, bless em.

I've just had some Kumhos fitted to mine having had Toyo T1S in the past. The Kumhos are excellent and they where £290 fitted for 4

At that price it doesn't even matter if they only last 9000 miles does it

If anyone still after tyres.

I have a set of 4 continental contisports 255/40 zr17's that have covered a little over 2000miles and are mint.

Im after £220 for them, can get some pics if required too.

Tyres4u.com has them listed for £544 for set of 4.

Hi,
I've got Michelin Pilot Sports on my S4. Horrible. Little to no feel at all. Also they are very bad in the wet unless you like understear!
Cheers

check the bridgestone potenza s-o3pp.
I've had pirelli's p6000, and michelin pilot sports(all in size 255x40 17)...Till now the Potenza is the best...I use them a lot a on tracks, and they do their job perfectly..
