Real shame

Post by carpy » Sat Jan 31, 2009 4:26 pm

What has happened to this poor S4. How much would it cost to take all the crap off & restore it? I'd be interested but it needs spraying too.......shame.

Why do some people do this.

Apart from looks the car looks good - nice AMD mods too.

That's not a very nice way to talk about a fellow forum member's car! - http://www.rs246.com/index.php?name=PNp ... ic&t=75118

If you got an RS4 grille, some normal tail lights and got rid of the tints, I think that would look really smart.

Must be selling up! No mention of power loss on ebay, although guess it could just be butt dyno msreading and not actual problem!

be interesting to see what is goes for, I had toyed with putting a bid in but the colour is too much for me

as Scott says it has promise with a few changes, the guy has also smartened her up since he got her somewhat, could be a really good buy for someone as there has been some serious cash spent on the car

I'd certainly be bidding if it wasn't for the colour. I'd have to respray it and I can't really justify the cost....

What's the score with that bodykit? Looks similar to RS4 in some respects, but then some bits look all wrong to me? Like the front shot of the grilles looks bizarre, so does the rear. I think the rear is just because the grilles look solid as they've been painted, but the front grilles don't look right.

EDIT : From the AMD website, the stage 4 upgrade doesn't include any fuelling or things like RS4 maf / air box etc. Seems a bit weird to only have the stage 4 done, when the stage 5 is not much extra!

I was actually bidding on it. Thought it would make a nice cheap donor car to pick up some bits and pieces for mine.

Price jumped up £2.5k in the final 2 minutes with some suspect bidding. Don't you just hate eBay!

At least the geezer made £2k profit from it in 3 months by de-chavving it a bit.

The interior, the gearbox, the Milltek downpipes and exhaust, the Porsche brakes, the H&R coilies, K04's, S4 engine, Bose system, etc.

Would have been worth a punt for breaking at the £5k I thought it was going to go for.

2k profit is pretty good for not doing much, believe it went for 5400 originally. I was watching it as well. had toyed with similar thoughts as to breaking it ;)

Taken from here - http://www.rs246.com/index.php?name=PNp ... ht=#292435 back in November.

He didn't keep it very long, so possibly not as perfect as he was making out (not to mention the missing 100bhp thread posted last week)!

Well if the car gets a relatively clean bill of health from somelike MRC or Grizz (dont mind a few bits that need sorting) then I might offer him the £5400!

I probably would have offered that. It sold for £7600 though. :(

haha yeah I know. I've got more than enough for an RS4 stashed but doesn't mean I want to spunk it all up the wall! I'm a tight git at heart but can't resist forever. Soon as something perfect comes up I'm jumping in.

I mean, my current 1 litre polo. 4 new tyres cost me about £120.......full service cost me £100. It actually costs me less to run than my mountain bike. Hard to move on from such spend-thrift-ery unless the car I move to is exactly what I want!
