Hi all, there seems to be more and more posts on expensive gearbox repairs. Rather than changing like for like when they do go, does anyone know if the standard box can be upgraded?
For example my other passion is Suzuki RG500 4 cylinder 2 strokes and they are famous for eating gearboxes, a small race engineering company called Nova produces complete replacement cassette gear clusters - not cheap, but no more gearbox issues ever again
The manual conversion that Grizz is developing is one route, but i would rather stick with an auto box - any suggestions????
Gearbox paranoia
RE: Gearbox paranoia
When my gearbox went a local gearbox specialist said they could rebuild it with an uprated clutch pack and valve bodies sourced from the U.S. This 'reputable' expert then went on to tell me the same kit of parts was tried and tested in NASCAR. Since when have they been using auto transmissions in NASCAR?
A company in the states called 'level 10' does do uprated valve bodies and other gearbox parts for the rs6, but how good they are I don't know, and there isn't a european importer. Try looking on rs6.com for some feedback on them.

RE: Gearbox paranoia
There are too many bad posts on Level 10, try IPT (Import Performance Transmissions - ipttrans.com)instead.
