Pirelli's are poo...

I had to get brand new Eagle Asy's and then decided to switched them onto the RS6 as I was driving her more than the RS4. The Brand new Pirelli PZero's then were moved onto the RS4.

The wife hasnow adopted the RS6 so I'm back in the RS4 on Pirelli's...the car's handling in the cold and wet has gone to pot. There is little grip at best and even on slippery/snowy conditions there is little or no grip compared to the RS6. On current set-up and in the wet, the RS6 would easily outhandle the RS4....

It is hard to believe how good the Eagle Asy's are.....

yep, 275/30/19's. But the wife noticed no slip at all in her cab. She has Asy's too. They are 215 or 225's.

The P Zeros have been terrible in the recent cold and snow. The car has been a joke. Quattro? Made no difference as far as I could tell.

I am definitely not having Pirellis again. Great in the dry. Tonnes of grip. And in warm'n'wet, no problem. But as soon as it has gone cold, the performance has fallen off the scale.

Will probably go with Michelin or the Goodyear. They Asymetrics are available in 255 now, right?

Is it manufacture recommendations that the RS4 has P-Zeros, or are VAG tie in with a relationship with Pirelli, as I have seen a few new Lambos with them on also, just wondered!

After reading this I may will go for 275s, I did the CCC by Don Palmer and we was chatting about tyre sizes, he seems to be all for the 255 and recommended it was not worth going up to 275s, just a thought.

Thought so. I had two GSD3's the other week, wanted the Asy, but didn't want to have two different tread patterns (too tight to buy four when only two are worn out - suppose i'll be doing this until they run out of stock )

These are 'summer tyres' remember; the properties of the compound actually change around 7 DegC. I had Michelin Pilot sports before they are pretty good now on Dunlop Sport Maxx as used in the BTCC which I also like. cold weather performance for all of these tyres will be poor, they aren't designed for it.

Asy's are not winter tyres but the grip is significant considering.

I had P-Zero's. A hateful tyre (as one cock clarkson would say), and I had them in the summer.
I now have Assy's and they're great
