There is no such thing as DRC PLUS

There are two types of suspension - Sports Suspension (SS) and Sports Suspension Plus (SS+). The latter has 10mm lower ride height and firmer springs.

Both share an identical DRC system, which has been known to fail on SS and SS+ cars in fairly equal measure

What in your contry is called SS and SS+, at the local Audi dealer in my country is called DRC and DRC PLUS. Audi policy, I don't know and don't care. So, based on your reply, I have to consider the aftermarket sollutions, since I really hate to check the shocks montly.

I totally agree with you there. To have the constant concern about whether the DRC is working as it should or not - you don't need that worry on such a vehicle as this so aftermarket would be my long term option. Whilst it's still under warranty though I may as well get Audi to sort it, hopefully though, not too many times!

I'll be happy when I can get some Ohlins shocks on there though! :D

I would check the RS4 sales literature in your country....

I think your dealer is not using the correct terms.

That's the least of the problems my dealer has, so I really don't care how it's called as long as it still fails

I wonder if they call it DRC plus as the version on the B7 RS4 is an update of the original DRC that was on the C5 RS6? Thus if that was the case in Romania all B7 RS4's would have DRC plus?

No, is the same as in other countries, SS and SS+. There are very few RS4 here with SS+ , the rest have SS.
I think I will wait and see if it fails again, go to Germany directly at Quattro GmbH, maybe they also have a service point there and see what's their oppinion on the matter. I keep hearing that there are new upgraded DRC shocks, revised by them that will not fail anymore. We'll see....

Is the noise from powersteering only on full lock? Or all the time?
