Suspension

Post by maximus4 » Tue Nov 25, 2008 5:45 pm

Hello guys,
I have owned my s4 now for 2 years and I am now thinking of upgrading the car. I will hopefully be sorting out a MRC 400 upgrade at some point next year but I want to try and get the rest of the car sorted before the 400 treatment. :D

I think the best start would be to upgrade the suspension. I use the car every day but will be using it for occasional track use as well.
So what are the best options for me? I am after a decent coil over set but I cant seem to find anything in the search so your advice and any links will be most appreciated.

For coilovers go for the Bilstein PSS9 or H&R coilovers....both very good. Do a search on here, should be some info def on both

Can supply either.

sounds like you would want a system that is comfy for the road and good for the track

that gets into the 900 pound plus bracket, as Virdee says the upper end H&R, Bilstein PSS9 or KW V3's - if i was feeling more flush the bilstiens would be my pick

i have KWv3 on a fully polybushed car (front and back)
polybushes make a big difference.

the v3's came in at a about a grand but are awesome at speed.
they claim to be 3 way adjustable on the car. (height, compression and rebound) but realistically you can't set the rebound on car as the adjuster is buried in the top mount.

I have considered a hole saw through the inside into the top mount cavity. as it sits on a plate it wouldn't reduce anything structurally and would allow a full track set up when you feel like it.

they are stainless as well which is a must
