Nope it was overturned. That's just devalued alot of people's cars! maybe the RS will survive as it's specialist but everything else has been killed off.

I have digested this and it appears that 3/01-3/06 cars have escaped the huge rises.

It looks like £215 for 2009/10 and £245 for 2010/11

here is the info direct from the governent, check pages 134-135 and look at the table on 135, it's important to read the note tagged with ** as this is crucial - basically cars over 225 g/km registered 01-06 pay the same as 201-225 cars.
This will ALSO help B7 owners who have cars registered before 23/3/06

yep good news all around really for us March 2001 onwards owners and as I said all along a U-turn was on the cards.

I feel sorry for all those people who sold their gas guzzlers on the basis that their road tax was going to double next April - SUCKERS!

..and have bought a Citroen C1 :bash:

From what I can work out a B7 S4/RS4 up to 23/3/06 is quite attractive, in warranty, big depreciation, V8 wuffle and same tax as TT and fuel is cheap for the mo...
